If you are looking to book a room, The Sheraton on campus finally released rooms today. They previously had every weekend in the fall blocked while they waited for Homecoming and Parents weekend to be finalized. I am thankful for Starwood points since the FSU game falls on Homecoming weekend this year so those rooms are going for $350/night with a 2 night minimum.

I thought the idea with setting up football weekends was that since Homecoming Weekend is guaranteed to bring in a lot of visitors regardless of the opponent, you try and set up homecoming for the least or close to the least desirable opponent on the home schedule.

Why schedule homecoming against the defending national champion and defending Heisman Trophy winner? Is there some new, brilliant scheduling strategy here that I am missing?

Without knowing any details and this being purely speculation, could it be that Homecoming was starting to lose some of its luster and become less of a draw? Perhaps it's a different way to try and get more alumni to actually come to town.

So Homecoming is FSU and Parents (Family) Weekend is?

Also, Yom Kippur starts Friday Night of the Louisville game...the (ACC) couldn't of screwed that up any better.

We played Florida homecoming 1991.

THANK YOU!

I was looking at rooms there the other day and all the game weekends were unavailable, so I assumed they sold out already.

I think Homecoming has been for an attractive game for a while now. SU doesn't draw the kind of homecoming crowds a lot of the big, state schools do, so I figured they try anything they can to get alums back. Much more attractive to return to see FSU than NC State or Duke.

Parents weekend will be Halloween weekend. NC State game. The Sheraton said that a lottery is used to book rooms that week

For those that like the party scene around Armory Square...remember that a new Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott opened up to compete with the Jefferson-Clinton.

I know what you mean. I thought the same thing when I looked after the schedule was released.

A lot of recruits at the Courtyard this weekend.
