Will Jim Boeheim win more than 950 games before he retires?

Has 856 now. He's 3 very good seasons away from 950. Is SU entering its golden age? If so, JB may get #950 in 2014-2015 then call it quits

If he gets to 950 only Coach K would be ahead of him for all time wins, assuming he doesnt retire before JB.

I could see K sticking around 10 more years

Over... but then again, I also think if he hits 950 he goes for the big 1000... guess it just depends how much fun he is having.

Over-he has 4 good years left which will push him past 950 (and there's no doubt he wants to end his career with more wins than JC).

JB goes for 1.oo1...with this seasons team; the next few classes of top level recruits; and the move to ACC...I can see him going 6 more years...sorry Hop

I'll go over, but I don't think he gets to it in 3 years. 31 wins per year, how many seasons has he won 31 games period? Didn't he top out at 30?

A couple deep runs in the tourney would help out a lot;)

yes - 30 wins in 2003 and 30 wins in 2010

no way he does it in 3 years. if he does, he will have some happy, happy, happy SU fans.

LOL at least 31 wins per year? That's better than '3 very good seasons'. We were 30-5 in 2003.

Minimum 4 seasons.

And they won 1 game in the BET before losing to UConn by 13... Last year's team won 27 and we all know how that post season turned out

So 3 national championships? Sounds good albeit not realistic.

All I'm saying is BJ will be very close to 950 by the end of the 2014-2015 season (if he sticks around)

94 wins in 3 seasons averages to about 31 wins per season. That's more than "very good." Boeheim has never won 31 in a season, though he's won 30 three times.

He'd have to lose very few games (think 5 or fewer) on top of advancing deep into the tournament to hit that.

The 2008-2009 team went 28-10... Made the sweet 16 and BET championship game. And that was a year when the BE had 3 #1 seeds... very good UConn, Pitt, and UL teams, not to mention a Nova team that made the final 4.

That said, I like this team's chances for 30+ wins

not minimum of 4 season - 4 season - mark it down now - no chance he gets there in 3 and no chance it takes more than 4

When is the last time SU was ranked in the top 5/10 for two whole consecutive seasons?
Just asking because that very well may happen starting now

Exactly one 31-win season (1987). Three with 30 even.

It'd take an historic streak. Of course, we have some great talent these days.

Incidentally, if Boeheim wins 31 this year, it'll cap the best three-year stretch in program history (won 87 from 1986-1989).
