I am as frustrated as everyone on here but the coaching staff did all they could to upgrade the QB position. They went out and got Collins, a highly touted recruit from a blueblood program. He obviously hasn't worked out.
That is the thing with young QBs. They can have all the skills in the world, look good in practice, but you don't know what you have until they get game experience. For Rickie, the coaching staff knew after the Spring game that he probably wasnt QB1 material and grabbed Angeli. They recruited a talented QB in Carney. What else could they have done?
Now, we can argue about giving Carney a shot (I'm solidly in that camp). We can criticize playcalling and coaching. But what else could the staff have done to get a good QB in here? We are not paying for a Mensah to walk through the door. The staff took a shot on a young QB with a ton of skills but it hasn't worked out.
