Could this be the year a 1 seed falls? Never remember this many battles with top 10 teams so early.

Yes as long as we dont turn it around to get one and become that 1 seed. Hopefully we paid our dues with the close call against asheville

always been my absolute fear... thought it was coming to fruition 2 years ago.

it is going to happen... i pray nightly to the college basketball Gods that its not us 1st.

i don't think it's as much overall talent being matched, but it's more these mid-majors and low-majors have veteran 3rd and 4th year players going up against true freshman. Our Syracuse team is actually pretty experienced in comparison to other top 25 programs, and we still start 1 freshman, 2 sophs, 1 jr/sr, and our tops guys off the bench are sophmores, and a senior.

Our experience is deceiving in that only 4 guys ( cj, roc , baye and jerami have significant experience.) we are similar to the top teams in that if our star struggles so do we. Duke got a good game from their star and still struggled.

4 having significant experience (by your calculations) is quite a bit. Coleman and Cooney also both have significant experience in this new age college basketball. Just because they stunk last year, doesnt mean they werent on the court at significant moments.

CJ had played pretty well in our 1st 3 games... we still struggled.

You have to factor usage as well. Backcourt experience which results in high usage is the lowest. With time ennis' talent should make up for that. Uk uses sheer talent to try to overcome the experience gap. As for struggling we really only truly struggled in the first half against cornell and then st francis. Otherwise we were in solid shape in large part to cj being on.
