What does this guy have against SU?

Dropping from #4 to out of the Top 25 after returning 3.5 starters?

Maybe he looked into his crystal ball and saw Richardson and Roberson and Lydon leaving.

Personally, I don't get worked up about in-season rankings, so I'm not about to raise an eyebrow over someone's pre-season rankings seven months out.

Nothing other than he will get a bunch of clicks and comments on his story from Cuse fans bitching at him...This is what these guys need and how they get rated on their stories. As soon as "WE" as fans stop reacting all the BS with go away...Why do you think Doug gets on Cuse so much...Cause we feed on it!

I'm not upset with this OP. But if I'm thinking of the right person, this guy is an ass-clown. I think he was the genius that tweeted the snarky comment about "2 semi-finals, 2 blowouts" (which was both unfair and inaccurate).

Is he at Yahoo sports? If not, he should be.

I didn't listen to the podcast but he tweeted out that he talks about it around the half hour mark if anyone is interested.

I generally think Parrish is pretty good. I'm going to assume his take is relatively well thought out, thought at first blush it's one I disagree with.

Thank

You
Not talking about it and not paying attention to Parrish should be the goal especially with these stupid way too early prognostications. Parrish has to be one of the biggest douches in media.
Fellas!

Stop feeding the trolls, they will be out of a cushy job!

I think he's quite reasonable too most of the time. Prepare to be disappointed.

His argument was basically "Michigan St lost".
The co-host points were G/Cooney >> Battle/Moyer, and "future PG Joseph" was a meaningful loss.

Guys, we are losing for sure our two best scorers and defenders (and perhaps our next best scorer). Absent the NCAA run, we were pretty much a B-, C+ team (A+ NCAA run). Battle will definitely make up some of the losses offensively but not sure it will be enough to make an already offensively challenged team better--we could be worse god forbid. Hard to justify being in the top 25 for certain. Having said that, I'm cautiously optimistic for a successful season if Malachi returns.

LOL @ the Joseph comment. Right there he loses all credibility.

Was there no mention of the giant we have coming in to roam the middle of the zone?

How can anyone even rank us accurately at this point until we find out exactly what Richardson and Lydon are doing?

The bottom line is you can't, but I'm sure his bosses asked him to do it, so here we are...

I can see the argument of "this team was a bubble team and they're losing 2 seniors in the backcourt, so they're going to drop off" but that's a very surface level way of looking at things. And to be fair to Parrish, he has to be aware of a lot more teams/players thna we do. But yeah, saying Kaleb is a big loss is not a great call.

Well, it looks as of now, that the chances are greater than not that Lydon and Richardson both return so I'm assuming anyone good at their job would take that into consideration.

So, if he's doing what most normal analysts would do, that means he thinks a team that rolls out an aggressive zone defense consisting of a Center at 7'2 and no one shorter than 6'5, with two possible 1st round draft picks, a big time guard recruit, a senior PF who came into his own in the Tournament and talented depth at G, , and C is not in the top 25.

Riiiiightttttt

I'd say it's a pretty big whiff on his part, assuming Malachi/Lydon are back. But he's also been covering the tournament for the last month, plus all of the coaching changes. It's not like he's a poster on this board and has all the ins and outs of the roster at his fingertips.

That being said, we can see why his bosses have him do the rankings this early. People love talking about it.

How anyone can put together an accurate preseason poll before the NBA draft, before grad transfer free agency is finished and before the in coming freshman are actually cleared by the NCAA is beyond me. Its completely meaningless at this point. I'll follow what SU and some ACC teams are doing but won't really look at who has what around the P5 conferences until September.

Eh whatever...

Let's see where everybody stands come May 25th
