This is so true. The tackling was lights out better today. I envisioned Fran running Oklahoma drills and Bull In The Ring drills until midnight all week.

Yeah, I admittedly was screaming for a big Babers contract in 2018. But Fran is already winning games with a different QB (not just McCord) whereas Dino was carried by Dungey and the wheels came off as soon as he left.

Fran’s a recruiter and has a really good staff. He wants to win!!! If he continues to feel he can win here with $$$ support, that’s step one.
The university cost itself a few million a year by not extending Fran last year. Step two is the new administration and board paying him what he wants.

Do the math. 40k fans give 10.00 a game to a fund at each home game. That 400k a game to a coaches fund or NIL. 6 home games. There’s the extension.

If we are a community team, the community could support. Look at Green Bay in its heyday.

Agreed. Realistically, he's won nothing (yet), but it seems like that's not far off in the future.

A school like Syracuse needs to overpay someone who's done what he has so far, especially given our recent history.

Fran doesn’t WANT to leave, but for 3M a year extra in pay, plus on top of that, extra incentives and revenue from his image in advertising, what would you do?
Donors from schools are circling the wagons.

Agree with your first comments but unless you win the national championship you don't extend anyone after just one season.

That was an impressive job by Fran and his staff. Tackling was night and day, he stuck to his guns and played with petal to the metal, looked like defense was more aggressive, and Nixon did Nixon things. You can feel the culture growing. He can be extremely successful here. If he can get elite kids to come here, know it’s possible, he seems like a guy who would want to win somewhere new, rather than go take a job where he would bring in top 5 recruiting classes every year. We just have to do whatever is needed to keep him.

So what did Fran originally sign? A 4 year? So reset it to a new 5 or 6 year and bump him to $5.7M to $6m a year? Median in the SEC is probably around $7 to $8M? Probably need to make sure he can up the pay of his staff as well.

Regardless of Clemson’s start to the season. I’d call this a top 5 win since joining the ACC EASILY. Covered the spread by 30 points. Not many teams go into that stadium and put up those kinds of points. Fran and Nixon are just incredible. Gotta give ERob his flowers. Defense appears to be taking some steps.
