The big race of the night was the men’s 5000m where Syracuse’s Justyn Knight pulled the huge upset and won the 5000m in 13:17 beating favorite Edward Cheserek by over 7 seconds. In the race, Australian Olympian Sam McEntee and Tanzania’s Gabriel Geay had put some distance on the collegians Knight and Cheserek at the bell, but Knight had more than a little something in reserve as he blasted a 57.6 final lap to edge McEntee for the win, as Cheserek was 4th. In the “B” 5000m, Matt Centrowitz ran 13:48 and Drew Hunter 13:49.
