I look at two leagues. The ACC and the regional recruiting. PSU beating rutgers doesn’t hurt our recruiting. Rutgers beating PSU, no matter how bad, in year 1 of glorious leader’s return is bad for recruiting

Penn State is 1-5. I think it would be more of a “Penn State is so horrible this year that they even lost to Rutgers” more than anything else.

All personal feelings aside, Rutgers is more of a recruiting competitor these days, so their lack of success is probably more important from a practical standpoint.

That's what Fitzpatrick's resume was before NW hired him. I wouldn't think you would want to be identified in any way with Sandusky and Pedd State.

You're right it doesn't matter. But it's putting football ahead of justice which is exactly what PSU did.

I saw the weather forecast and wondered if this game was going to be like that infamous ‘wind bowl’ game played 15-20 years ago at Rutgers Stadium. So many similiaries.

A near empty stadium.
Senior Day.
Awful weather, highlighted by 30 mph winds.
Rutgers pitted against a much better team that always seems to beat them.

Rutgers, aided by awful weather and a series of improbable good breaks, was able to beat Syracuse in the Wind Bowl. That changed Greg Schiano’s life forever. He was destined to get fired and become a garbage man, but instead, he held on to his job and was even able to coach RU to a couple of seasons of winning records, made possible by all the good programs in the conference fleeing the stench of the Rutgers football program.

Would history repeat itself? Would Rutgers somehow mange to pull a massive upset and defeat the hapless 1-5 toothless Nittany Lions?

No. Rutgers is getting killed. In the year of craziness and improbable events, Rutgers is going to finish last in the B1G. At least there are still some things you can count on,
