2 games on the road
2 new QBs
Oline that in reality is starting 4 guys in new spots
new coaches all over
2 best SR rcvrs gone

we are not a plug and play team.. we need time

we could have started with wagner/tulane gone 2-0 and been 2-2 going into the clemson game and people would be less panicked then they are now..

all hope is not lost.

Yep, don't believe the hype put out by LOSERS - we happened to start our season against two top 20 teams from the Big10, which might be an inferior conference but still an auto-qualifier BCS conference.

We got a lot of season left and next week is an easy W and there are a few more easy W's on our schedule. We are going 9-3, one loss to Clemsen is all I see and who nows we might beat them too and go 10-2, run the tables from here out.

I ain't worried, but I am sick of all these idiots from other schools jawing constantly about a sport they don't know, can't wait to shut them up!!!!

It's a transition, not a rebuild. A lot of self inflicted problems. They are going to step back on offense, but against the remaining schedule it should be enough to win more than they lose.

The sideline stuff will get straightened up. The two big isues are getting the run game untracked and tighening up the pass defense.

It's not losing, it's the way in which we're losing. Disorganized, sloppy, and really head scratching offensive coordinating, play calling and use of personnel.

This is the type of thing rubbing me the wrong way; we put together a 9 play 75 yard drive and score a td cutting it to 34-13. We have some moe at that point after putting together a great balanced drive.

We hold them to 5 plays 11 yards and a punt to get the ball back. Again we've got the moe.

We promptly go:
Gulley run no gain
Gulley run gain of 1
3rd and a long 9
pass to Broyld incomplete

It was a terrible series of calls when we could've got something going.

And all the 3rd and long two yard passes are mind boggling.

I agree with a lot of that. Not sure why CK felt compelled to scrap what had worked last year and start over.

This team will be fine with two winnable games on the horizon.

They'll be fine for the next two games (which I actually question a bit) but then what? I can see us losing every game left on the schedule after that.

Friday night i had two sure wins in bc and wake but I think we may as bad as they are. What pisses me off is that I believe the talent to be good enough but also believe McDonald is hamstringing this offense.

Another series later in the third is just as mystifying. The first and second down runs to mcfarlane - I mean we're they scripted runs?, because its almost the 4th Q we're down big and you're running he ball, it doesn't make sense. Now granted its 3rd and 3 and hands Jerome drops an easy pass for a first down but What; why when time is ticking are we running 2 straight and then throw the 3rd down pass to Jerome?

So now that both gulley and smith have dropped 3rd down swing passes in back to back games can we utilize some one else.

I like it. It makes for very entertaining reading.

If the posters were in charge, McDonald would have been gone last week and the rest of the coaching staff would have followed him out the door last night.

the chances of ever coming down from 34-7 were slim even if we played a great 2nd half.. the key was to build up the offense. we really were one play away from a 2 score game, but it was going to take a NW gift and they never committed one. we are not a quick drive team now so no matter of us wanting faster play is going to work.

The problem isnt that we lost, its how we lost. NW could have named score if they wanted to, the only reason they didn't hang 60 was because they decided to stop throwing the ball for most of the second half. They completed passes at will to wide open guys all night long, that was the worst performance on D I have seen since Grob.

The offense really needs to establish the run. Smith needs to carry the ball significantly more than he has. Just because we have a talented RB corp doesn't mean that every one of them needs touches in every game.

There has been absolutely zero continuity between the offensive packages and personnel. As you mentioned, why get away from something that works before the defense can prove they can stop it?

Btw, I really liked what I saw from Estime yesterday. Far, far better hands than Ashton.

No panic unless thes lose to Wagner and then, summary execution.

I completely agree.

While we should see a dominant win on Sat - the things to watch for are more touches for Jerome, better communication, better play calling.

I think the D will be fine. It'll get sorted out.
