BC making a run at Al Golden. That's bad news for Syracuse b/c I think Al is a good northeast coach. He's not a "Miami" type guy. They need to hire someone like Petrino.

Will be interesting to see if someone like Golden would consider bailing on a Miami program that isn't just floundering now, but also might be facing undefined future sanctions.
It's bad news for Buttgers not Syracuse. We don't recruit New Jersey.
Didn't you say the same thing when Miami hired him? I thought Golden was going to walk into every HS in NJ and take who he wanted?
If Al Golden couldn't sell NJ recruits on Miami, good luck at BC.
not me, that would be stupid. enough talent in florida. no reason for him to recruit new jersey.
That would be a great hire for them. And it would hurt Rutgers badly as well. Golden/D'Onofrio have more contacts in Jersey than anyone else right now. And unlike Miami, BC recruits Jersey hard.BC making a run at Al Golden. That's bad news for Syracuse b/c I think Al is a good northeast coach. He's not a "Miami" type guy. Miami does not recruit Jersey like BC does. It never has, never will. They are located in the middle of perhaps the best recruiting area in the country. That is where their focus is, and where it should be.I could be wrong, but despite offering a bunch of NJ kids since arriving at Miami, Golden & Donofrio have landed one NJ kid. I think you might be thing of Golden & Donofrio circa 2001.
Edit: I should add that the recruit was a legacy.

BC is forced to look elsewhere to get its recruits and NJ has been its bread and butter for many years (expect perhaps the last few when the Village Idiot was their HC). Look at the rosters of these teams historically and see if UM has the same number of recruits from NJ that BC does.
If Golden and D'Onofrio come to BC, they will focusing their recruiting efforts on NJ and they will do well. You are delusional if you are not concerned.
Oh wait. Rutgers fan. Never mind.![]()
Golden has probably offered a dozen NJ kids in the last two years. Just because they haven't had any luck, doen't mean they aren't trying.
As for BC, call me delusional but I'm not concerned with Golden at BC. Rutgers has a better game day atmosphere, we have better facilities, we are the better team currently, and we will now be playing in a better conference (let's keep it real as the kids say) against better competition.
I got your man...
