Perception of the game

I think this was an excellent example of how coverage can tilt your view of the game. Picture the same game with the broadcast crew beaming, I mean really beaming, about our defense. And throwing in that we scored 41 pts. Not what we got. It was all how poorly we ran the ball. How TD missed passes. Look, honestly, I was disappointed with our game. But these guys don't help matter. To me, we are still uninvited guests. They bring former coach Mark R on and he is quick to add that we are bottom of the conference. Mark, a lot of these guys were on a 10 win team that was the 2ud best team in the ACC last year. Could have mentioned that.

Yep, I love the money and I love being at the big boys table with a couple of our traditional regional rivals in BC and Pitt, but that's the list of what I really, truly like about the ACC.

A little off topic, but my GOODNESS Mark Richt is the worst! He is an absolute downer who sucks the energy out of the room, he doesn't seem to like us very much, and he's a real homer suggesting that Miami is still in the mix to be one of the top teams in the ACC. I get that many of their players are his recruits, but come on! They are terrible and I don't see that changing this season. He needs to go.

My point was that the broadcast crew made it out to be worse than it was. It was subtle. Anything we didn't do well was pointed out. anything we did well was glossed over. We have a long ways to go. But they wouldn't have treated most of the other ACC teams that way.

Last week Durham was gushing about DeVito and did so at the start of the game.
They also said how well the defense was playing and mention several defensive players having great games.
They where right to call out the offense as it was well offensive most of the game.

Before we joined the ACC, and we couldn't use geography as a reason that the media hates us, people just said they hate us because we're Syracuse.
It's cool to feel victimized in some way in 2019.

People seem to have gone deaf in the pre season when the people on the ACC network were stating we were the #2 behind Clemson, and when people on the network were calling us "The real deal". Where was the bias then?
Lo and behold, it turns out we aren't that good, and the same guys are now saying as much, and suddenly their opinion is of no merit, and they hate Syracuse because we hail from the North. lol.

Exactly how I saw it but most people on this board just aren't happy if announcers aren't SU homers.

Nonsense. No one believes that. What I believe, is that we are not a featured player in the league. More of a add on. We were used to being a top dog. Whether we want to admit it or not, we are in a southern league. the league office is in the south. The major players are southern teams.
