This is perfect for Peter Carey. He’ll have a chance to develop there faster because he’ll get on the court probably right away. He’s got good athleticism so I think he could turn out to be pretty good over the next three years.

That's why there was about 2-3 days of rumors BEFORE GMAC signed and then Carey jumped.

Even if he isn't going to class, I think he'd be eligible up until grades are due. I have several student athletes as advisees at another institution, and honestly I don't know for sure because it has never been an issue.

No. Not at all. Often, there is a thin line. And in this case, he played because the big in front of him got hurt. Most teams don't have really good 3rd team centers.
