Class of 2025 PF Francis Folefac (MD) Portal from Siena

Curious that Rutgers would be in on Folefac (especially to start) when another MAAC transfer, Brandon Benjamin, put up better numbers and profiles as a more realistic option to make that jump than Folefac IMO. Not to mention Benjamin is from Newark, which could make the sell for him easier. Not gonna sweat losing Folefac if this is the case. We have bigger issues to get ahead of.

I think the idea of Folefac's defensive ability is appealing to a lot of schools, especially Rutgers who never plays D. He's also probably slightly less expensive than BB.

Edit: Rutgers funding is horrific.

its curious that he posted he was committed to su, then an hour or less later took it down. agent got involved?

This is just a reaction building on your post, not directly about what you are posting.

I wonder if Folefac's representation is trying to leverage his great game against Duke to squeeze more $$$ out of teams, or position him in a P4 situation with a clear starting role.

The market determines what you are worth. Maybe there's someone out there who will meet his price, or guarantee him a path to a starting role. In which case, tough to argue if he opts to go elsewhere.

But that would be a pretty big slap in the face to GMac, IMO.

Is it possible that we view Folefac as a potential starting center? And pay him accordingly?

I admit, I am a little concerned if our roster reconstruction plan is to roll with two Siena guys in the pivot who were part of a third place MAAC regular season. Even if both are decent players.

Was that post before or after the White news? Maybe he has P5 starting spots and doesn't want to come play backup to White? Maybe he was under the impression he was coming to be the starter.

And (not directed at you bees just in general here), please save me the no spots are promised GMac us giving everyone a fair chance to earn the starting spot. That isn't how things work, regardless what is said in public and if you believe that stuff, you are way behind the times.

He posted his commitment later afternoon on Tuesday and Sadiq coming back was announced on Wednesday. Pretty good chance he and his agent got the Sadiq news on Tuesday and re-opened things but I don’t know that for sure

I believe it was before

Last update I saw was 5 of the top 50 committed and 50 of the 1,000.
Yeah I just checked the crystal ball site, 7 of the top 100, one of those being Doty. It’s a slow market and I think not the strongest in terms of talent.

With the Mexican Standoff/few commitments, should we expect that to continue?
Dam will burst 4/20-21?
Unfortunate for players/programs if huge decisions end up being made in a 24HR feeding frenzy at the end of the window.

He also has to weigh whether he thinks Gerry can better develop him for the future than another coach. I think Gerry has already shown his value this past year in developing him and trusting him.

GMac knows exactly what he was making at Siena. He prob gave him a good sized raise that he thought was fair. Agent said we want to test the waters and see what happens.

I can see it from both sides really. Gmac thinks he gave a fair price and his agent thinks he may see a higher # after some time in the portal. Know one loses their minds when Fran says ok cool go get paid, we shouldn't for hoops either.

We don't really know, perhaps GMAC is in the race for an upgrade over the role Folefac would be playing and he is the one putting things on hold.

Feels like the entire market is stuck right now. There’s been little movement nationwide.
Yeah, it does sound like there's probably going to be a few decisions coming up pretty quickly and maybe that'll kinda kickstart things.
