I’ve never seen so many people care about a backup this much ever.
Folefacwho do you want to spend the money on, Folefac or Freeman? Only so much juice in the Orange
Doty had an offer from Illinois. The expectations on the Siena kids are way too high across the board.
If we get this kid specifically, he should barely be playing for us unless we’re in a tough spot.
Also, people are worrying about exact positions way too much when it comes to anything outside lead guard and center.
Center and lead guard are significantly in peril at this moment, imo. But we have time still.
Folefac wants to come here? Fine. The MAAC was like the 25th ranked conference. It’s worlds away.
I was stoked at how GMac started both with his staff and roster. And still think he’ll close well, but we aren’t there yet. Folefac isn’t changing our outlook one way or another.
I don’t disagree thereHe also plays a position where we have someone in front of him. He is in my opinion, a luxury. Center is a position of dire need.
None of this is real until it is.Doty had an offer from Illinois.
Folefac getting looks from Rutgers and GTech to start.
Why are we over-valuing the Siena guys when the rest of the country is looking at the as possible starters?
I don’t want a 6’7” guy playing center. I don’t care how beefy he is. The shortest I can recall SU going at center during my Cuse fandom was Andre Hawkins at 6’8”. That was over 40 years ago. Back up PF, fine.If he was a couple inches taller a lot of folks would think differently than they currently do. The idea of a 6'7 center is completely foreign to some, despite the bulldog frame, so they can't fathom him getting minutes at both the 4 and 5. We need some muscle on the roster to not get bullied, we're currently long but lean. He could/would realistically get 20/25 mins per game for us and guard up or down as needed.
Rutgers and Georgia Tech are the rest of the country? And we know he would start at those schools?Doty had an offer from Illinois.

If Gavin Doty saw an open market, he is getting offers from all over the country.Rutgers and Georgia Tech are the rest of the country? And we know he would start at those schools?
I was responding to the post about FolefacIf Gavin Doty saw an open market, he is getting offers from all over the country.
It’s been reported in here both had offers to start at other P4s.
I want to land both. If I knew of the other option at center and did research on that person maybe that will change on whether Freeman is a must get. But right now, it appears that we need to land him or we are taking on a big risk in that area next season.I think many are undervaluing Folefac because he came from Siena and was originally a no star.
Yet this freshman is the same guy who more than held his own in games against Duke and Indiana.
And according to both GMAC and Ben Lee was the best defender on the team.
He was the guy assigned to guard MAAC player of the year and PG Kennedy in the championship game. Just signed by Wake Forest to be their starting point guard.
I agree we need a starting center but I can not say I am all that sold on Freeman.
Seems like a me first player, maybe many are, but not sure I want that guy to be our highest paid player.
Plus had had injury issues.
I just don’t like waiting for this kid and let other potential players, like Folefac, twist in the wind waiting for him to choose our orange rose.
How long is too long to wait for Freeman?
OK, so in line with a professional organization with a more than reasonable budget, all of which must have budgetary constraints, right? Do you go after the secondary, ancillary piece albeit we believe very good or a primary indicated cog from a positional standpoint. If you have to make a choice which one given above considerations must you choose? Clear in my opinion. Hopefully both however upon choosing if you have to which one carries higher precedenceFolefac
Why do you think it’s one or the other? They play different positions. I’m hoping SU still has money for a starting center, starting point guard and a back up forward. Who knows how much money is left in the coffers?I think many are undervaluing Folefac because he came from Siena and was originally a no star.

I dont have a news story. These were rumors on this site.“Rest of the country” is doing some heavy lifting there.
Especially when getting looks doesn’t mean anything outside of diligence from all of a few teams.
Also, can you please cite the news story with the committable offer from Illinois?
Does this mean that since Folefac is listed at 6’7” that he’s really 6’5”?LOL. We just had this this past year.
That’s prolly how tall Will Kyle is IRL.
Otis Hill was listed at 6’8”, which means he was prolly closer to 6’6”.
There’s no way Folefac should start at the 5.
That said, he’s bulky, agile, and long enough to play some backup minutes there, along w the 4.

Can Folefac jump like William Kyle? Also, our record with William Kyle wasn’t what we’re aspiring to next season. At least I hope it’s notLOL. We just had this this past year.

Not sure if he can jump as high but he sure as heck can shoot free throws shots better with a much better form. Can Folefac jump like William Kyle? Also, our record with William Kyle wasn’t what we’re aspiring to next season. At least I hope it’s not

I don’t remember seeing so many internal ‘fights’ at any point in a preseason. Just shows that there is a big pile of chips on the table, we’re at a precipitous moment in our timeline, we’re coming off a cluster of angst-riddled years, and going into one with some promise and still a lot of doubt. Stakes are high. Emotions are high, even after a period of numbness. As Kelly Kapur would say, “I feel weird.”I’ve never seen so many people care about a backup this much ever.
