Agreed.

The portal [which is out and out free agency at this point] is a two-way street. Teams have to be willing to pay, and you have to find a place that offers the role you are seeking. Sometimes you can find that role, but at a lower level than you'd prefer, or not for the money you'd prefer. Or a team might offer you the money, but the path to PT isn't as clear as you'd prefer.

I think that's where Folefac is at this point. Coming off that big Duke performance, he was looking for a P4 starting role with big $$$. Not sure that any of that manifested for him -- maybe some teams [Georgia Tech for example] didn't offer the money he was looking for. Or Syracuse offered the money, but not the path to the starting lineup Folefac was looking for.

Hope he ends up here in the end.

That and hope we are zeroed in on who the last big addition will be $$ wise.

Kyle was my favorite player this year for several reasons. High motor, highlight reel dunks, great effort. But the fact remains that he was bullied in the low post by plodding seven footers from mid major schools, not to mention ACC competition. When teams had really good centers like SMU and North Carolina, it wasn’t even close. Being a shot blocker is not necessarily the same as being a rim protector.

Kyle was good against some of the competition, a different style of center would have been better against others like SMU or Carolina.
Kyle did little between highlight reel plays. D fundamentals were weak to average. No O game other than dunks. Poor ft shooter. He was exciting, but mostly when there were mismatches against lesser competition. His impact lessened as the competition improved.

This is a joke right? I think you should go rewatch our guards and Mr Glass Freeman leave Kyle on an island every game from about BC on.

You want to put blame on someone it’s not Kyle. Teams knew if they shutdown our front court that our guards would fold like a cheap suit and that’s exactly what happened.

Not accurate at all. Once our perimeter defense just collapsed in apathy vs BC and after he was trying to play goalie more than defending a man and the rim. He had plenty of good games down the stretch. He and Kingz were the only two out there putting in the effort and work on the defensive end.

The NCAA is a joke for not handling the 5 for 5 before the portal opened vs possibly adding insult to injury to the problem at hand by adding a whole bunch of 5 yr guys into the pool of players after most teams are locked in with their rosters.

Kyle: 21.2 PER, 62.7% TS%, .154 ws/40, 7.3 BPM
Folefac: 19.3 PER (remember, PER not adjusted for level like BPM is), 57.7% TS%, .149 WS/40, 1.9 BPM

Kyle has an argument for being our MVP of the team last year (albeit a sub .500 team).

Without question. Kyle and Kingz were exactly that. Any knock on them is crazy. Would take them both back if it were possible this year in a heart beat and prioritize literally over any other player we have on the roster right now outside of maybe Sadiq.

A fifth year for two kids who finally were reaching their potential would have been a massive win for us. The NCAA can’t stop making things worse even when trying to make it better uggh.

Agreed. The Kyle downplaying is over the top, IMO.

People act like if you aren't impregnible on defense and Shaq on offense, that you are somehow deficient. Kyle was terrific, far down the list of issues / problems that the team had defensively.

How would Kyle get a waiver? He played 30+ games in 4 seasons.

Kingz, you at least have a JUCO argument, but I don't get the first one.
