Class of 2025 PF Francis Folefac Portal from Siena

Client Challenge

Didn’t see another thread yet but Francis Folefac intends to enter the portal. A little undersized for a PF but can defend every position on the court, good footwork, and shot well from outside in the limited shots. Doesn’t really fit any traditional but because of his defense could see minutes at SF, PF, and emergency C.

SG- Kiyan, Doty

C- Spend a good amount on a starting center, Souare comes back as a backup center

I mean ideally I would too….but also I know we are gonna be spending big money on a starting PG and C. So if Souare is our backup center because it allows us to get a stud center and point guard. I’ll take that. Give me a stud PG and center. Fill the rest of the roster out with good role players that know their role that aren’t as expensive as the PG and C. You have a really good PG and Center in college basketball and you are going far. Then have Doty, Kiyan, Folefac, Sadiq, Moesch. Whoever else we bring in have defined roles. Doty, Sadiq, Folefac and Anthony are a good start for role players that do specific things well. I think Sadiq can be a 10 and 7 guy next year if he starts.

I know Doty is a topic of discussion right now but I feel realllll confident about that kid. He’s going to be a fan favorite this time next year. Not saying he’s our go to guy or best player. But dude is a good defender, hustles his ass off, great free throw shooter. I can see him getting us 10-12ppg next year. Some people aren’t realizing just how talented this kid is because he played at Siena….he’s a good ball player and 100% belongs at this level.

Sadiq with a legit solid coaching staff has a ton of potential. While he is still a role player his potential is undeniable plus his motor fits.

For the starting 5, bringing in only a stud PG and C isn’t enough to me.. Like Cusefan said, we need shooters at 2G.. I’m fine with Doty as 6-7 man and Kiyan should not start, so we need a stud 2G from the portal too.

We also need 2 starting forwards from portal besides Folefac. I don’t think White is ready skill wise or size/strength wise to start.

We need a more competent big than Souare to backup as well.

Two things to think about:
1) Every team including Syracuse is always one injury away from losing a key player. That said would you like to depend on Souare as your center if your primary center gets injured. In a perfect world, Syracuse would bring in a starting center who is significantly better offensively and defensively than Souare as well as bringing in a backup center that has better overall skills that Souare.

2) Do you have any insight that Sadiq White is not portalling? There are rumors that he could follow Autry to Virginia as well possibly returning/playing back home in North Carolina by looking at UNC if he is familiar with the new Head Coach selected there (speculation). I would like to keep Sadiq White but do not have the insight that he wants to stay.

What have we been reading for the past week...?
GMAC is a great coach in alot of ways//on different levels.

I look at White and Freeman... These guys have talent out their A55.
What they didn't have was a coaching staff that could define their roles and develop their skills.
AND both White and Freeman were kind of "hotheads"--they'd lose their composure.
So here comes GMAC and Co...and these players are going to hit the portal??!!!
They would have to be stupid.
Also Souare( I think he has potential/skills) may likely have AO to develop HIS game.
I hope GMAC encourages him to stay.

We didn’t get top third results but most preseason experts I saw had Cuse as the 5th or 6th best roster which is top third. Preseason JJ was 2nd team All ACC and former All Freshman Team. Donnie Freeman ended up All ACC Honorable Mention for 2026. Naithan George was All ACC Honorable Mention for 2025. Anthony and White were both top 35 recruits. I would argue Kings was our best player and Kyle exceeded most expectations.

Our top 3 players didn’t live up to expectations. Were they overrated? Did the peaces not fit? Were they in the wrong system? Were we out-coached? Did players give up after the BC disaster? You could argue any of those but one thing I think everyone would agree with is the whole didn’t equal the sum of the parts and we underachieved as a team.

At the end of the season, I didn't want to see Souare on the floor at all. Any minute he played could have gone to Kyle, Sadiq or Donnie, all of whom I would much rather have on the floor.

Kingz and Sadiq both would have starting level P5 options if they went portal. Zero doubts on that. PG, C and SG or SF are the big 3 where money has to be spent depending on whether Kingz or Sadiq stays. 4 new starters even with the money we have is not going to force some creativity after you lock down PG and C. You still need depth that can shoot it, protect the rim and contribute night in night out. If you spend 10/11 million alone on starters you may have a struggle finding a capable depth with what’s left. If we have 15/16 that’s different but you still have to be smart about it.
