It’s a former 4 star top 75 player we would sign for depth who could still grow into something. Nothing else. Better than having Souare at that position.

Not every kid thinks just money. A lot do, sure. Gihool is from PA, Cuse is a lottttt closer to PA, than LSU. Gihool and Estrella have great relationships with G-Mac. Gihool could probably move down to a mid major or lower conference team and get some good minutes right away. Some kids are fine waiting a year or two at a big time program to get their shot as upperclassmen and want that power conference experience. At the end of the day, these kids go to practice every day. They know how they stack up against their teammates. I’m sure Gihool was at LSU and saw he needed to get better. I’m sure he’ll come to Cuse the same way, work his ass off with G-Mac and AO. And hopefully by his junior year he’s playing like a seasoned vet in this system

He should go to Temple or St. Joe's, play big minutes as a redshirt freshman, then transfer.

Would rather a kid that's down two levels and shows some ability to play 5-10 minutes per game, has produced at that level and can add some value.

The odds this kid plays a minute that's meaningful this year at Syracuse are (one would thing) not good.

I don't think this is the way of the college basketball world anymore.

Ehh he’s got decent tape from AAU and is not a stiff. I could see a scenario where he’s productive in 8 minutes a game. We’ve had lots of worse players in these spots in recent seasons.

I don't think a 4 star recruit playing 0 minutes as a freshman means he's DOA, especially if the plan was to bulk him up and play him as a C given his height (which may or may not be the case).

Definitely not a good sign though.

I know multiple people from Penn Charter. I would ask them about Cuse, and they basically told me without saying it… screw them and screw Autry. They had very little interest in our program. This was about 5 months ago.

Gilhool only wanted us for Gmac. Pretty sure that is documented in this thread. I have no intel as of the right now, but with what I heard from those philly folks, this development makes complete sense.

I really have no idea. Believe it was right around Dec (when we still had a chance to make tournament ). I don’t want to misquote but I made a comment about Cuse looking better. Walked away from conversation thinking that we were never gonna land another Philly kid in Autry era. I don’t think it had anything to do with Autry as a person. Probably just a complete lack of faith in what they were doing and running day to day if I had to guess.
