Riley Mulvey set very good screens in the Duke game. As a guy who got so many open shots at the basket in his three years playing with Craig Forth, it might just be something GMAC focuses on with his big men.Not the “sexy” pick up but the guys you need. If he stays healthy he’s definitely an upgrade over Souare. Have to think about these guys in practice too. During practice do you think Souare and his talents were helping other bigs get better everyday by going against them? No. This kid is better than Souare. He’s a big body. Not overly athletic. But he’s skilled, big, and he’s a really good rebounder. Not gonna blow you away offensively but skilled enough to get some baskets. He’s not a big time run protector but he’s big enough where you aren’t gonna back him down and he stays in front of his guy. Really his biggest asset is rebounding and he’s a plus screen setter (extremely important and underrated trait for a big man)
Good screens make offense so much easier. It was agonizing watching our lackluster screens at times.
Sometimes I wanted to scream "Just go to the corner so at least you aren't getting in the way of the ball handler!"
