He has absolutely no excuses. We got him a PG, Soph Freeman, a 3 pt shooter, a center who can help defend...He has to pull off his endI am probably a fool, but I expect JJ to be a different player next year. I believe he can fix his shot. He had better form in high school. I think he can improve that by shooting a TON of shots this summer. Also, he needs to work on his left hand. And, obviously defense. That sounds like a lot, because it is. But, this is his last shot. He has the ability, he just has to work his butt off.
I'm not trying to hate I like Kingz a lot I just believe this guy is middlingWe got a true PG, cheer up, Deb.
Easy to nitpick these guys but there's really no comparison between who we're bringing in through the portal this offseason vs. last IMO.
I was just joking. I understand your opinion and you are entitled to it. I am going to watch some Claude this evening, but I really like what George brings to the table. I am not a huge analytics guy, I understand their value, but I know what a point guard looks like, and Nait George is a true point guard and I think he is going to help us tremendously. Think about the old "coach on the floor" saying. Well, when you lack a coach on the sidelines, a coach on the floor is a step in the right direction.I'm not trying to hate I like Kingz a lot I just believe this guy is middling
Any more "Nates" available in the portal? Collect'em all!
The 3 point shooting is okay; higher is always better obviously but 34% is good enough for it to be a decent shot. 39% from the field is rough though; just doesn't seem to be a very good finisher in the paint (and doesn't pass the eye test in that regard either IMO). It feels to me like Red is trying to build a team around athletic forwards/bigs this year and George is the kind of passer that should complement that very well.I like that he does a little bit of everything. Stuffs the stat sheet. If you look at the last 5 championship pg’s only two of them shot over 35% from 3. I want a PG that is going to lead the team. Get them in the right spots. Make the right decisions.
I also like his size.
Shooting just about 34% from 3 is not bad and you only expect it to keep improving.
However, 39% overall from the field last year is very concerning. Not efficient at all.
He needs a private shooting coach since we don’t have McNamara around. Either Cuse pays for that or JJ invests in himself with some of his NIL Money.I am probably a fool, but I expect JJ to be a different player next year. I believe he can fix his shot. He should try to work the Steph Curry campHe needs a private shooting coach since we don’t have McNamara around. Either Cuse pays for that or JJ invests in himself with some of his NIL Money.
Judah Mintz lol. But I know what you are sayingAt least we know we have a point guard who can play in the ACC. When was the last time we could say that.
The foul shooting gives me hope he can shoot better. Georgia Tech didn’t really have a lot of options. The 3 point shooting is okay; higher is always better obviously but 34% is good enough for it to be a decent shot. 39% from the field is rough though; just doesn't seem to be a very good finisher in the paint (and doesn't pass the eye test in that regard either IMO). If George can get a little better at the rim or make the floater a real weapon, it would go a very long ways. I think he'll be effective at least in the regular season but if god forbid we actually find ourselves back in the tournament again and teams are able to scout us more, it'll probably make sense defensively to stay home on the shooters/lob threats and just dare George to score and see what happens.
I digress though; after the last few years I would freaking love to have to worry about how teams will defend us in the tournament lol.

I just watched his video. I think he has really nice form on his trey shooting. Of course the vid only shows the makes, so maybe he just didnt have great shot selection on the misses ?????The foul shooting gives me hope he can shoot better. Georgia Tech didn’t really have a lot of options.
He did have some games he went 5-8, 5-9, 3-6, and 4-10 from 3.
I believe it’s saying these three additions put us on an upward trajectory.Too much to read this as we’re targeting 3 more portal adds?
They're just adding another Orange and Up emoji each time they get someone and this is the 3rd commit so far.Too much to read this as we’re targeting 3 more portal adds?
Didn't JJ hurt his wrist last year? I wonder if that hurt his shooting. I'm sure it didn't help it.He needs a private shooting coach since we don’t have McNamara around. Either Cuse pays for that or JJ invests in himself with some of his NIL Money.
