This is my issue with the current structure. Such a joke. The Crumbl ceo has basically said that he will spend any amount of money on BYU athletics. This isn’t surprising he’s staying
Why?This is my issue with the current structure. Such a joke.
A billionaire super fan of a team paying for a roster. You don’t see the issue with that? Why?
No.A billionaire super fan of a team paying for a roster. You don’t see the issue with that?
I do. Not a fan of some of your recent takes (begood) but I agree with you on this one.No.
Having a couple teams that have more money than others is stupid and not good for the sport. It’s comical ho stupid the set up is now.No.
But it is the setup. So either take advantage or lower your expectations.Having a couple teams that have more money than others is stupid and not good for the sport. It’s comical ho stupid the set up is now.
How do you take advantage of it if you don’t have a billionaire donor? But it is the setup. So either take advantage or lower your expectations.
You can’t have both.
Get one. Like we used to have. How do you take advantage of it if you don’t have a billionaire donor?
You mean one that barely donated?Get one. Like we used to have.
How much did he give to Siena last year? And why can’t we find another one? It’s a pretty decent school with some notable alumni. You mean one that barely donated?
Idk you tell me how much he donated. It’s funny you think a billionaire donor is just so easy to findHow much did he give to Siena last year? And why can’t we find another one? It’s a pretty decent school with some notable alumni.
All the other cool kids are doing it. If we are one level down from the blue bloods, this should be easy.Idk you tell me how much he donated. It’s funny you think a billionaire donor is just so easy to find![]()

Mark Cuban ain’t walking through that door for us. Warren buffet ain’t walking through that door. Elon musk ain’t walking through that door either. What we need to do is get local business more involved. Why not try to get turning stone involved moreAll the other cool kids are doing it. By what metric have you determined that Crumble's CEO helping to fund BYU men's basketball's roster is "not good for the sport?"Having a couple teams that have more money than others is stupid and not good for the sport. It’s comical ho stupid the set up is now.
Having a couple teams having one huge donor who can outspend everyone is just plain stupidity. There needs to be a cap.By what metric have you determined that Crumble's CEO helping to fund BYU men's basketball's roster is "not good for the sport?"
Actually, don't worry about it. You won't have one. One doesn't exist.
You don't like it. That's the problem.
This argument misses the mark for me. Yes others donated way more to Syracuse over the years, but he was cut loose from Syracuse in 2023 after just 2 seasons of NIL. He had a handful of NIL deals with SU athletes. At that time, SU thought NIL was making a couple grand doing smoothie instagram ads and frankly didn't take it seriously and was behind the curve. You mean one that barely donated?
Because there is zero return on investment that is why they aren’t jumping to burn money. How many cars do you think NYE sells to people outside of the university because they donated, not many. The ads these kids create are borderline awful because they don’t have the personality or ability to do it. They don’t promote the companies on social. What reason would you pitch a Wegmans or turning stone to donated millions to nil? I’ll wait! Minus companies controlled by superfans who don’t care, none of them will jump to donate to this nonsense. Especially seeing we can’t lure in anything close to top talent with what we have. At some point we need to pray this player money grab era ends because Syracuse isn’t equipped to succeed in it. I love gmac but the only hope we have is he can out coach the opposition.Mark Cuban ain’t walking through that door for us. Warren buffet ain’t walking through that door. Elon musk ain’t walking through that door either. What we need to do is get local business more involved. Why not try to get turning stone involved more
hes going to have to give more than $120k over 2-3 years combined to football, basketball and womens bball to have any impact.I’m just hoping Gerry said he needs AW involved and BB and MH simply just get on board with it. Don’t care if he flies solo as our guy to call in when we need to make sure a deal can be done or whatever. I also hope he can re engage with coming to games. There are no more rich villains in cbb anymore. There are just different types of donors.
I was told a few weeks ago aw would be brought back into the mix after Kent left. No idea if him leaving early changes the timeline. We will soon see how much stomach he has for nil.
Given NIL didn't really kick off, and certainly NIL at SU didn't really kick off, until after the split up, there's no telling what he would be donating now. Sure, if he stayed in the fold and didn't ramp up his donations, then yes he'd be all talk. We don't know either way.
Now, you can say what you want about Adam's style, how he talks, doesn't want to contribute to a collective, etc., all of which would be valid points. But assuming he wouldn't be a factor isn't a fair argument.
That I agree withHaving a couple teams having one huge donor who can outspend everyone is just plain stupidity. There needs to be a cap.
