I cannot remember a 'cuse defense playing this physical. The whole unit is playing fast and angry--really punishing stuff. Wake's good receiver's drops over the middle were not coincidence. We sit right behind the visitor's bench, and Wake's receivers and O-linemen came off the field looking physically beaten by the end of the third quarter.

Also, haven't seen it mentioned much here, but to my eyes, Wigham is starting to look like a future all league type player--great speed/instincts. The play he made against Wake where he dropped the pick 6 was right in front of our seats, and the break he made on that ball was just so fluid and technically sound. Great corners always have their hips turned the right way to apply leverage, and Wigham always seems to be correct. They've had Reddish out on an island all year, but I think Wigham's play in the last two games has allowed Darius Kelly and Wilkes to hedge less to the slot/outside and play run more. All good things. I'm terrified that FSU is so athletic they will press coverage our receivers into being non factors, enabling 8 or 9 in the box--not a good formula for us and our run game. That being said, I'm very interested to see whether our boys on defense can hang in there on Saturday and at least make FSU's young QB earn things.

agree, whigham is a stud. Break on the ball, hard to catch a fade against him because he's long and rangy. Our secondary will be even better next year. whigham, reddish at corners, with eskridge, desir and kelly as Safeties. Then you have the versatile wayne morgan that can play anywhere. Scissum will learn CB and S. The only issue is depth at CB. We have to recruit CB's for this class. We cant miss on any of them because they might have to play immediately.

I don't get to say it often, but I called this one at the spring game. I highlighted his name over and over again. Really like the way he plays.

Agree with everything your saying except I think the year we had hogue at LB, that defense hit really damn hard too and played really fast. We had some really good def players at all levels on that team. Not trying to argue, btw. When the defense is this fun to watch its at least bearable that the offense sucks.

Whigham is a beast I have been on him and Morris since we started recruiting them. I was so happy when we kept him because Miami came looking late in his recruitment. Whigham will play on Sundays.

Agree about Whigham. As I've posted elsewhere, he just looks like a pro athlete, just like Mike Williams did.

Whigham, Eskeridge, Kelly, Morgan, Reddish, Desir, Davis and Lynch...

Come over the middle at your own risk. That should be our 2014 motto.
