you look at the stats and the results and little was done.. but you rewatch the game and its too bad mahoney didnt get settled in earlier. the first few drives every pass play was open he just missed them. the first tipped one was a screen that was set up with only one lsu player even prepared for it could have been a huge play. I really think dungey completes at least half those throws even on a bad day. run game was not there, but give some credit to the LSU D they are big and fast and closed down some plays that probably worked weeks 1-3. with the field position we had we were only a completion away from 2-3 fg attempts the whole first quarter and the way the half ended one fluke LSU TdD away from being up 10-14 at the half and who knows how it plays out.
even the big LSU run was a mistake and bobbled and our one wildcat play was set perfectly and bobbled for a nothing play. LSU talks about mistakes and penalties keeping us in the game and overlooks the luck they had to not behind at the half. even the first drive we took a formation penalty on a first down play that would have had us out to midfield. it was not until late the penalties really made a difference and holding/PI calls are far different mistakes than offsides/formation calls.
