Every Monday (or Tuesday if there is a Monday game), posters will be asked to rank the scholarship players in order, using whatever metric you want. Some will base it on total season production, some just on the most recent games, some on a combination, some on a metric of their own creation.

The only rules are that you must list at least 5 players, and you must list them in order - no ties. Force yourself to order them. I know it is hard; some weeks there will be very little difference between #3 and #7.

This week's vote will be open until Thursday afternoon; the results will be posted prior to the Long Beach State game.

Here are the results for Week 2

1. MCW
2. Triche
3. Dirty
4. Fair
5. BMK
6. Rak
7. Grant
8. DC2
9. Cooney

Edit: I put Dirty at 3 because while he's obviously been outstanding, when his shot isn't falling you tend to forget he is out there. MCW and Triche just consistently impact the game in more ways than he does.

While MCW and Triche have turned the ball over, they clearly are our two best and most consistent players. Southerland isn't to far behind. If MCW and Triche can start hitting some outside shots, I will take our backcourt over anyone.

And CJ may start plummeting soon

I'll add a comment for each since I can't help but be wordy:

1) MCW -- Dirty can make a good case, but teams will have their hands full with MCW every second he's on the floor

2) Southerland -- dangerous player who does more than simply score

3) Keita -- reliable big man, a bit bigger and more physical this year. underrated.

4) Fair -- Not real pretty so far, but still a steadying influence

5) Triche -- I'm not his biggest fan, but he's been solid

6) Coleman -- Not terribly impressed, but 7 ppg, 5 rpg in 16 mpg is not a bad start for a frosh, all things considered

7) Grant -- Based mostly on this last game, but he not only looked talented, he looked smooth

8) Christmas -- 8 FTs in 6 games for a guy of his size? Ouch.

9) Cooney -- The shooting has been ugly, but I expect him to rise on these rankings the next couple weeks. His floor game isn't bad. Just 2 TOs in 84 minutes and he's shown some aptitude defensively.
