State clearly has the better pedigree. They nearly upset Auburn and have been ranked #1 all reason. But as I type this, ty are trying to hold on against Southern up 41-31 with 8 minutes left.

Both teams didn’t exactly look like national title contenders this year and neither was very good at stopping people. State was by far the higher scoring team and they are playing at home. But when a team wasn’t supposed to get this far anyway, who knows what’s going to happen. This game willb e on ESPN 3 at 8PM tomorrow
NORTHERN IOWA 9-4 (400-251)Lost 7-31 to Iowa State, 13-21 to Illinois State, 28-31 to North Dakota State and 19-24 to Western Illinois. Post Season: 23-19

The Bison are tough to beat anywhere, but especially tough in the Fargo Dome. But a conference foe, who has faced them many times, isn’t going to be intimidated. This game will be televised at Noon tomorrow on ESPN. The Bison are the rock stars of small college football.
RICHMOND 9-3 (416-284) Lost 21-50 to Maryland, 25-30 to New Hampshire and 20-21 to Villanova. Post Season: 13-9-1 (1)

ILLINOIS STATE 10-2 (424-237) Lost 131 to Iowa and 20-25 to South Dakota State. Post Season: 8-6
The Spiders have already struck again as I am writing this, biting the Redbirds 39-27.
