CLASS AA

CBA beat -M 41-14 on 253 yards rushing and 4TDs by Stevie Scott:

Utica Proctor blitzed Nottingham 38-0 in a game that could have been worse: it terminated in the third quarter by a brawl:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...s-in-brawl-shortened-sectional-football-game/

Liverpool topped CNS 29-12, despite missing star running back Jadekis Scott and it’s starting quarterback:

Baldwinsville defeated RFA 31-13 as Ryan Ingerson ran for 264 yards and a pair of touchdowns:

Next week’s match-ups:

1-Christian Brothers Academy 7-1 (366-120) NYSSWA #13 MaxPreps 10/1003 PS#1 10 titles
4- Utica Proctor 7-1 (316-192) NYSSWA NR MaxPreps 33/2174 PS#3 0 titles
These teams didn’t play during the regular season. The Brothers have been dominant since their opening loss to Aquinas, (7-0, 346-87) but Proctor has been coming on strong as well, losing only oen game by one point to B’Ville. This sho9udl be quite a game.

2- Baldwinsville 6-2 (240-231) NYSSWA NR MaxPreps 73/3243 PS #7 4 titles
3- Liverpool 7-1 (319-73) NYSSWA #19 MaxPreps 12/1226 PS #2 6 titles
These teams didn’t play during the regular season, despite being almost walking distance from each other. It was hardly a vintage year for the Bees but they scraped and clawed their way into the playoffs. The Warriors have their best team in years and are still a major threat to win the section, despite the loss to CBA

CLASS A

ESM came back from a turnover-produced 0-12 deficit to advance against Watertown, 34-20:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...rcomes-early-deficit-to-down-watertown-34-20/

Fulton also overcame an early deficit, 0-7 to beat perennial power Carthage, 20-7:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...omes-up-big-in-20-14-playoff-win-at-carthage/

Defending state champ Indian River also won 20-7, over J-D, whom they’d beaten 18-7 the week before:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...o-first-round-victory-over-jamesville-dewitt/

Whitesboro followed up its 63-8 win of last week against poor Fowler with a 54-6 triumph in the ridiculous playoff rematch against a team that is now 1-7:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...-and-darnae-camp-lead-whitesboro-over-fowler/

Next week’s match-ups:

1- East Syracuse-Minoa 7-1 (344-181) NYSSWA #14 MaxPreps 100/4270 PS #5 2 titles
5- Fulton 4-4 (194 206) NYSSWA NR MaxPreps 217/7407 PS #9 1 titles
ESM beat Fulton 35-18 during the regular season and will be favored to do the same thing in this game.

2- Whitesboro 7-1 (276-85) NYSSWA #18 MaxPreps 84/3536 PS #6 7 titles
6- Indian River 6-2 (255-93) NYSSWA #23 MaxPreps 70/3204 PS #7 2 titles
Whitesboro beat Indian River 44-12 during the regular season. It’s interesting how their ranking have changed on MaxPreps, despite the above results. Whitesboro went from 62/2964 to 84/3536 while Indian River went from 123/5008 to 70/3204, despite the fact that they’d both played the same opponents they’d ended the regular season with and won by virtually the same scores. Go figure. I’d rate this game a toss-up between perennial powers.

CLASS B

Cazenovia, the #1 ranked Class B team in the state, crushed Westhill, the team that had just defeated their main rival, Homer, 42-6:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...dy-to-play-in-42-6-playoff-win-over-westhill/

Duncan Smith scored on three long runs as Chittenango topped Mexico, 34-26:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...ense-shines-in-34-26-playoff-win-over-mexico/

VVS scored all three touchdowns in the second quarter to defeat Skaneateles, 21-13:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...-leads-v-v-s-to-playoff-win-over-skaneateles/

Homer had no problem with Oneida, 41-14:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...erreras-two-tds-help-leads-homer-past-oneida/

Next week’s match-ups:

1-Cazenovia 8-0 (324-52) NYSSWA #1 MaxPreps 19/1464 PS #1 9 titles
4- Chittenango 6-2 (191-115) NYSSWA #19 MaxPreps 144/5643 PS #5 3 titles
These teams didn’t play during the regular season. The Lakers are still in search of a close game. I don’t think the Bears will give them one.

2- Homer 7-1 (283-116) NYSSWA #15 MaxPreps 82/3445 PS # 3 4 titles
3- Vernon-Verona-Sherrill 6-2 (168-181) NYSSWA 25 MaxPreps 127/5123 PS # 7 2 titles
These teams didn’t play during the regular season. Homer shook off their upset to Westhill and seem on schedule for another big match-up vs. Caz.

CLASS C

Utica-Notre Dame crushed Sherburne-Earlville 61-21, a game that was 55-0 at halftime:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...me-uses-41-point-second-quarter-to-crush-s-e/

Perennial power General Brown barely survived against Jordan-Elbridge, giving up two late touchdowns and then recovering an onsides kick to preserve a 28-25 win:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...ridge-comeback-for-28-25-class-c-playoff-win/

Holland-Patent upset Thousand Islands 16-7 behind two touchdown passes from Devin Franco:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...sses-holland-patent-past-ti-in-class-c-upset/

Canastota crushed Herkimer 58-29 behind a total for 6 touchdowns from Cam Bellino and Ryan Zophy.
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...re-first-6-tds-in-canastotas-big-playoff-win/

Next week’s match-ups:

1-Utica-Notre Dame 7-1 (338-114) NYSSWA #9 MaxPreps 35/2223 PS #2 6 titles
4- General Brown 7-1 (367-150) NYSSWA #19 MaxPreps 143/5627 PS #6 6 titles
These teams didn’t play during the regular season. Both have had dominant season. The GB Lions were rolling along at 6-0 (333-97) when they got shockingly upset by Thousand Islands by a resounding 6-28. They barely held on to outlast Jordan-Elbridge 28-25 last week and who knows if they’ve got the train back on the tracks yet. The Jugglers have had a CBA-like season, losing their opener and going 7-0 (324-82) since then.

2- Canastota 7-1 (328-111) NYSSWA #13 MaxPreps 72/3233 PS #4 0 titles
6- Holland-Patent 6-2 (178-128) NYSSWA #16 MaxPreps 126/5065 PS 9 4 titles
These teams didn’t play during the regular season. Canastota seems much the better team. Like UND they lost their opener and have been dominant since, (7-0, 326-94).

CLASS D

Sandy Creek pulled away from Mount Markam, 41-13, behind Joe bene3dict’s three touchdowns:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...benedicts-3-tds-leads-sandy-creek-to-victory/

Onondaga topped Westmoreland 26-14 in a battle of perennial powers:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...ntleys-2-tds-lead-onondaga-past-westmoreland/

And, in another, Dolgeville beat Weedsport in overtime, 34-28:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...ons-td-in-ot-lifts-dolgeville-past-weedsport/

Josh Chapin scored four times to lead West Canada Valley over Cato-Meridian 31-18:
http://highschoolsports.syracuse.co...hapin-scored-4-tds-in-west-canada-valley-win/

Next week’s match-ups:

1-Sandy Creek 6-2 (258-145) NYSSWA #11 MaxPreps 290/8793 PS #8 1 titles
4- Onondaga 6-2 (164-121) NYSSWA #14 MaxPreps 358/10,101 PS NR 6 titles
Sandy Creek beat Onondaga 20-6 during the regular season. Of this mediocre crew, Sandy Creek is most likely to be a hidden tiger. They lost their first wo and are 6-0, (230-86) since then.

2- West Canada Valley 6-2 (166-117) NYSSWA NR MaxPreps 343/9863 PS NR 1 titles
6- Dolgeville 5-3 (208-220) NYSSWA NR MaxPreps 391/10,743 PS NR 16 titles
West Canada beat Dolgeville 31-0 during the regular season. They won Section III’s first ever state title in 1997 and have their best team since but Sandy Creek handled them 14-40 earlier this season.
