CLASS AA
Cicero-North Syracuse continued its march through Section III, demolishing Corcoran 41-7 after giving up a score on the opening possession. They’ve won every game this year by at least 4 touchdowns.
Cicero-North Syracuse football rushes into Class AA final with win over Corcoran
Unfortunately, the game was marred by several in-game confrontations, including a punch that caused a Corcoran player to be expelled, and then a brawl after the game that put two unnamed CNS players in the hospital:
2 C-NS football players hurt in scuffle with Corcoran will miss Section III title game
Baldwinsville was equally dominant in crushing Liverpool, 56-14 to stamp their own ticket to the Dome. Fortunately there were no brawls.
Baldwinsville rolls over Liverpool to gain spot in Section III Class AA football final
FINALS Match-up
1- Cicero-North Syracuse 9-0 (469-86) NYSSWA #6 MaxPreps 1/182 PS #1 Titles: none
3- Baldwinsville 8-1 (322-172) NYSSWA #18 MaxPreps 18/1015 PS #2 Titles: 4
Comment: The Bees looked just as good against Liverpool as the Northstars did against Corcoran, although Corcoran is a better team than Liverpool. In CNS’s 67-31 regular season win on their home field, Baldwinsville was leading 31-27 just before halftime when CNS scored with about a minute left, used a fumbled kick-off to set up another score, scored again after getting the second half kick-off and still again after a pass interception. That interception as the only play from scrimmage the Bees ran while the Northstars scored 26 unanswered points. That took the wind out of not only the Bee’s sails but of the contest itself. If CNS doesn’t get a stretch like that in the finals, it could be a competitive game. The fact that we don’t know the two Northstars players who were injured in the brawl and won’t be able to play in the finals creates more intrigue.
They have four common opponents beside each other:
CNS beat Auburn 54-7, Liverpool 41-0, (I’ll count that twice), Nottingham 49-6 and Utica Proctor 53-14 Total: 238-27
B’ville beat Auburn 31-14, Liverpool 35-7 and 56-14, Nottingham 49-24 and Utica Proctor 35-22 Total: 206-81

Two weeks after winning a 6-0 defensive duel vs. Jamesville-DeWitt, Indian River won a 56-42 shootout over the same team, withstanding four unanswered second half touchdowns by the Red Rams:
Indian River tops Jamesville-DeWitt, punches ticket to title game
After losing 26-27 to East-Syracuse Minoa three weeks before, Whitesboro returned the favor, 20-19, thanks to a late goal line stand, to advance to the Dome.
Whitesboro avenges loss to ESM, advances to Class A final

2- Whitesboro 6-3 (283-172) NYSSWA #22 MaxPreps 179/5727 PS- #4 Titles: 9
Comments: IN 8 of the 9 weeks of the seasons, the Warriors of Indian River were the more impressive of the two teams. On that one other night, the Warriors of Whitesboro were dominant, 41-20. Can they do it again?
They had five common opponents, besides each other:
Indian River beat Carthage 57-14, Fowler (aka Public Service Institute) 55-6. Jamesville DeWitt 6-0 and 56-42, Oswego 62-14, Watertown 55-6 Total: 331-82
Whitesboro beat Carthage 27-20, Fowler 35-6. Jamesville DeWitt 33-0, (I’ll count it twice), Oswego 54-6, Watertown 40-26 Total: 222-58

2- Homer 9-0 (352-79) NYSSWA #3 MaxPreps 34/1619 PS #1 Titles: 4
Comments: Caz was the #1 seed but Homer is ranked above them by everybody else. the disparity between Max preps rankings of the two teams is hard to understand.
They have four common opponents:
Cazenovia beat Marcellus 14-3, Mexico 28-7, VVS 19-7, Westhill 61-18 Total: 122-35
Homer beat Marcellus 35-12, Mexico 42-18, VVS 34-0, Westhill 40-0 Total: 151-30

General Brown rolled over Sherburne-Earlville 41-8, not allowing a score until there were 3 minutes left in the game:
General Brown football takes control early, defeats Sherburne-Earlville to earn trip to C final
Nick Wamp’s 65 yard catch and run with 2:37 left in the game helped Skaneateles top previously unbeaten Canastota, who had given up only 45 points in their first eight games, 28-21
Skaneateles squeezes past Canastota to earn shot at Class C football championship
FINALS Match-up
1- General Brown 9-0 (468-117) NYSSWA #2 MaxPreps 103/3684 PS #3 Titles: 6
2- Skaneateles 8-1 (389-121) NYSSWA #6 MaxPreps 99/3593 PS #4 Titles: 2
(Note: Skaneateles’ record has been adjusted because MaxPreps counted one game twice.) The Laker’s only loss was to Class B powerhouse Homer by only 21-28, so they will be a most formidable opponent for the General. The teams have two common opponents: Southern Hills, (the Lions beat them 47-26, the Lakers 42-13) and APW, (Lions 46-0, Lakers 41-6).
CLASS D
Bishop Ludden, the state Class C champion a decade ago, seeks to add a Class D title. They defeated Sauquoit Valley 33-21 to make it to the sectional final. An 88 yard fumble recovery and a 72 yard screen pass clinched the win in hard-fought game.

Dolgeville’s scoring machine overcame Onondaga’s defensive prowess but just barely, 32-28:
Big fourth quarter returns Dolgeville to Class D sectional finals
FINALS match-up
1- Bishop Ludden 9-0 (348-163) NYSSWA #8 MaxPreps 181/5761 PS #5 Titles: 2
2- Dolgeville 9-0 (448-189) NYSSWA #6 MaxPreps 85/3185 PS #6 Titles: 16
Comments: Ludden lost to Dolgeville 42-48 in last year’s sectionals. This year they will be facing a team that scored over 60 points three times and 58 another time. Again, the disparity between Max preps rankings of the two teams is hard to understand, even if the Blue Devils seem like the more explosive team.
There are three common opponents:
Bishop Ludden beat Immaculate Heart 40-20, Onondaga 12-6 and Waterville 49-21 for a total of 101-47.
Dolgeville beat Immaculate Heart 64-16, Onondaga 32-28 and Waterville 62-28 for a total of 158-72.
