they wanted it to be private, now it will be public and unattended. not sure what the priorities were here, the statues were just sitting there with tarps on them at fanfest. let me reiterate that the only time anyone from the community that isn't some kind of die hard is anywhere near that part of campus was fanfest. and this department is so out of touch that they tried to make it into something exclusive. build as many statues as you want, talk to me when we can actually play football again.
Actually having the unveiling on the day after URI would have led to poor attendance. This makes sense to do it before the game, and I like that the SUAD tied in this event with a Veteran's Day tailgate. The last administration would have made any kind of reception for VIP only.
