Please No 12:00 p.m. Kickoff...

After the TD at 9:49 mark in the 4th the band is playing the fight song and the crowd is so loud you can barely hear it.
Yup. Its the 1:10 mark on the youtube video. I sat in 210 back then. The walls were shaking.

BINGO. Are people really referencing Tennessee as a reason for being pro-noon game? LOL We were a top 10 team that year. We went in to Michigan and beat them the next game.

We had MAYBE 40,000 last year vs Louisville and that was when we were better than we are now and had a buzz. There really isnt any logical case to be made for noon, unless you have a wedding or a funeral.

After looking at this more closely it appears I am wrong. That UL game that barely cracked 40k, was our 2nd highest attendance of the year. We had about 80 more people at Pitt and that was a Fri night prime time contest.

Since 2002, we have cracked 45k twice for a noon game. First against BC in 2003, 45,313. Next was Doug Marrone's opener against MN, 48617 .
During that same time frame we broke the 45k barrier 6 number of times that weren't noon starts:

11.9.02 vs #8 VT 3:30pm: 48,239
11.30.02 vs #1 Miami 1:00pm: 45,679
12.6.03 vs ND 1:00pm: 48,170
9.4.05 vs WV 1:30pm: 45,418
9.13.08 vs PSU 3:30pm: 45,745 **** (this probably doesn't count since they were all PSU fans)
9.21.11 vs WV 8:00pm: 45,265

After looking at this, I think Marsh is right, it might suck for tailgating but the fact is we don't really crack 45k more than once per year anyway. Sad.

I said this last year. You will get more people into the seats (aside from winning games of course) with the new opponents on the schedule which we never see. I loved BE football but even I will admit that the same teams year after year got stale. Couple that with us sucking for a few years it led to down attendance. Now with new teams coming in that we as fans never get to see you will get more people by accident (these comments do not factor in the first two games as those opponents both sucked and not conference foes and we all knew that whether we were 0-2 or 2-0 we were not getting many people to give up a fall day to watch those teams.)

One of the most disturbing stats I noticed....

9.14.02 vs R.I. 3:30pm: 43,089

10,000 more people 10 years ago for a similar FCS opponent as Wagner.

Avg attendance in 2002: 42,259
Avg attendance in 2012: 37,952

Edit: I figured avg attendance was a more fair barometer of the fan base than just 1 game. So we've lost about 5k fans in 10 years. Roughly 12%.

two ranked teams and lots of buzz.

cinci noon 09, 33K
wv/UL in 06/07 noon 35K
virg 05 noon 40K

the only noon game vs a ranked opp that had more than 41k was that Tenn game

really only Miami/VT/PSU got us over 45K

the FSU game was only 40K

FSU game is the best example. UVA is fringe at best.

Cincy, Louisville were Big East teams that no SU fan would compare to Clemson coming to town. Think like an SU fan. Cincy and Louisville combined for 75 people in the away section too, for whatever that's worth.

That FSU crowd, for a night game, was a letdown. But 2004 started with a hopeless looking 51-0 beatdown, and it was the first year that SU truly felt left out of the good conferences (BCS access notwithstanding).

I'll be impressed with 45k for this game. And even if it's at noon, I think it's going to be a loud Dome. Louder the longer we stay in it.

truth is, Syracuse is an old town now. Young people dont move here, and many move away.

PS - i have never laughed harder than when they announced the attendance on Saturday. There were MAYBE 28K i the stands. And that is being very generous.

At the 1:10 mark - Konrad with two crushing lead blocks in a row.

The best crowds we have had the last decade are 2005 Syracuse vs West Virginia we had a legit 45k for GRob's opener and the 2011 WVU beatdown on a Friday night. The 2004 homecoming Florida State crowd wasn't as loud as either of the WVU games and FSU brought a good crowd to the game.
This crowd was loud and awesome too bad Brian Parini had no idea how to run an offense and GRob wasted a decent defense left to him by PP.

Everytime i hear the name Brian Pariani I want to slit my wrists.

Anyone think the Dome temps will be an issue for Clempson, a packed house, it should be pretty hot in there, right. Do they think its AC'd?

Yeah nooners just don't work for me. I've got a football game every Saturday at 10am and a soccer game at 1pm. Don't get home until 3.

Honestly, they should have taken the time and individually polled everyone who attended the Tulane game as to preference.

Wouldn't have taken long. :bang:

Clemson may be the last game I can make this season...please 3pm or later...

im hoping for 330 or later also since a nooner id have a hard time making the game since its an hour trip and I work Saturday mornings but if its noon id have to get someone to cover for a few hours

I was still in HS, just checked youtube. A packed dome is a beautiful thing.

There are few things I wouldn't do to be able to experience this again. Come on people this is fun, it shouldn't be something your forced to do.

Minimum acceptable attendance for Clemson is 45k. Even that would be a slight disappointment, but at least it would look full. There won't be huge sections of blinding metal

P and D's play calling on the final goal line series left a lot to be desired as well.

Crazy. It's like they were setting up for the field goal the whole time. (Though if McNabb just calms down and sets his feet after the scramble, we score on that pass to Daniel and have a really good chance to win.)
