There are no moral victories in a game you should have won. Dropped td, horrible decision by T.D. on the very first play, a lot of penalties, and a questionable decision for an onside kick. We lost to pretty avg team. I think LSU is a 5-7 win team. Progress? Yes. We've made progress. Loved our D for the most part tonight, but losing a game you should have won is not a moral victory.

Completely disagree, I'm happy we didn't get blown out on ESPN. This team has sucked for pretty much 15 years. I will take what I can get. The we should have won stuff rings hollow to me, we didn't win but going in I would take this score in a MF-Ing heartbeat.

Still say we are a 4-5 win team but who knows. I think NC st is a better team than LSU but again perception is reality.

We'll see.. NC State played against a true freshman QB and team with dashed Championship aspirations who couldn't play for 2 weeks.

FSU looked like a team that had its heart ripped out and was rusty.

If they had trouble with Marshall, we can beat them. The final score of that game (+17) was not indicative. They were only up 3 with 7 min left in the 3rd.

They are good - but those saying they are better than LSU? I don’t know.

I don’t get it. Had we won, but sucked - people would have been happier - but would have pointed to the mistakes. The flip side of a moral victory is exactly what LSU is waking up with. It’s better because winning is always better - but short of winning, losing a game where you competed with a better team and showed improvement? That’s better than getting your arse kicked 100%

I'll say this, moral victories are for the teams that don't matter. Bama, USC, FSU, OSU, Mich, LSU, etc would never debate whether they had a moral victory. They lost. The have-nots think about these things. It stinks to be one of them.

Call it what you want but let's not act like there weren't a lot of positives about last night's game.

This was a game in which virtually everyone (aside from the team) expected a loss and were hoping to not get blown out on national television. We end up putting ourselves in a position to actually win the game. Call it what you want, but I wake up this morning proud of the team and more confident that they (under Dino's leadership) are heading in the right direction. We don't need to call it a moral victory, because nothing about that is really a win BUT there are a LOT of things about last night's game to feel optimistic about moving forward.

it was a good watch. we were competitive to the end against a superior opponent.
i'm not disappointed with the outcome. really thought we should have won.
"superior opponent" ? That is questionable. If LSU is superior then SU is in trouble with the rest of their schedule.

#25 LSU 35 vs. Syracuse 26 | FINAL

By the tone of their board, LSU fans are almost considering it a loss.

Win at NC State after this and that disrespect might just shift a bit. Hard to take any moral victories given plays were there , more important is that this be a spark to get a big win next week.

On all but one or two plays we covered the jet sweep well which is a great sign given we will surely see it vs NC State.

Here is a question for the people that find hope in moral victory. We've had plenty of "moral victories" by playing teams close. When have we ever gone on to beat the inferior teams (compared to the team we had a moral victory against), following a moral victory?

So far, since 2015, never. And, I'm not going to say that the boys will beat the hell out of NCState next Saturday. Last two meetings with NCSU were embarrassing, to say the least. If SU hangs with them (within 10 points), I'll be impressed. A win would indicate, to me, that the corner has probably turned and that a 7 win season is attainable. We'll just have to wait and see what happens Saturday.

There were a lot of pluses that came out of this game than in years past. This team has improved a lot and most of the mistakes came from the younger players which is expected at every program.

And Ismael did get the better of Greedy for the game minus the great jump he had on the first play and we adjusted to that immediately for the rest of the game.

6 months ago we had no chance. Two weeks ago we were walking to the gallows. Last week we had a chance. Three days ago we could win. Day after we should have won.

All depends on how you look at it.

The recruiting rankings would strongly suggest LSU's superiority.

during the game cast it was noted that pregame ed ogeron said syracuse had 3 players on the defense who could suit up and play for LSU and ahmad (?) almost fell out of his chair.
i think our D put a scare into death valley and surely they won't forget parris benett jr.
