I thought I read he had a couple boys playing ball at JD (middle school?). His daughters looked to be in their early 20’s (maybe not) so he either had four kids spaced well apart, or he is on his second marriage. Got excited when I read about his sons.

His daughters were beautiful and very tall, although they did wear heels. Still tall.

Yes, I noticed that right away.
Beautiful girls.
VERY tall. Like, Amazonian tall.

Do they have any college eligibility left?
Asking for a friend. ;)

He was a great player in a great era too.

Can I complain about something though? When we “retire” a jersey, every one in the rafters is styled after the Wallace, Moten, sims style and numeral font, regardless of which jersey they wore. That’s fine I guess, even though Melos looks weird for instance.

That said, the jersey they frame always mirrors the style of the day. Again not what they wore. The jersey in the frame, and the jersey in the rafters not only do not represent what they wore, but they don’t even match each other.

Call it petty, but it drives me bananas.

One more nit - Moten's DC shout-out was cool, but he arguably missed someone who nobody at SU should ever forget. Wilmeth Sidat Singh was a DC guy through and through, even though he went to high school in New York. And he's maybe the most important name up on that wall.

Frankly, they looked a lot better than Lawrence did. He has a good eye for beauty.
BTW, I was wrong about Moten. It’s Preston Shumpert who lives in Jamesville and his two sons play for JD Middle.

They are easy to confuse. I always thought they looked something like each other.

Moten:

Shumpert:

Moten could hit threes but was more aobut constant motion and hitting the open shot wherever it was. Shumpert was a purer shooter with great range. Put them together and you would have had an NBA star. As it was, they were both very good on the college level.

Yup. Me, too.

Frankly, I was disappointed that the entire team didn't wear knee-high socks for the game yesterday.
If I was there...
But I think he had a really good day!
