If the Devil comes to you right now and says I can guarantee you get to the championship game vs. Kentucky but you will lose or you can take your chances on your own?

He says you of course sign that deal immediately. Really? Guarantee a loss in the title game?

I butchered the wording/grammar of the proposal, but you get my drift.

Wouldn't we recognize Calipari when he makes the offer.

Thats a conflict of interests since I'm not 100% sure the Devil and John Calipari aren't the same person.

You never take that deal. Now, if Syracuse were to lose in the title game, that doesn't make the season a disappointment. But, you always take the chance to win the whole thing.

Darn, I was proud of my clever joke until I just realized Capt Tuttle beat me to it 5 min earlier.

Don't want to see Kentucky in the NCG regardless of the opponent so I don't take the deal.

He failed. He sounds the opposite of clever.

1987-team was better than Indiana. Huge disappointment we lost.
1996-team had less talent than Kentucky but was in the game until the Sims injury. Disappointing, but not like 1987.
2012-I think we take our chances.

No way - I'll take my chances too.

I will say that a Final Four season is nice feather to have but I think our sights are set higher than that.

And yes - Lazarus Sims wants another shot at Kentucky.

Normally I would say no but I think this year I would do it for selfish reasons. I am going to the FF and it would be 10x better if SU is there. So much can happen between then and now (injuries, players leaving, etc). Plus winning 5 games isn't easy.

A better offer that's not stupid would be:

Do you take SU to championship game where you will play UK.

Or do you take your chances? (SU might not make it, but if we do we might not be playing UK and instead get an easier team).

Nearly as bad in the other direction. Pretty obvious I'd take that in a heartbeat, just like I would smack Bud in less time.

I'm probably being a nerd about this and overthinking it, but if I knew ahead of time that SU was going to end up in the national title game and lose, it would completely take all the excitement and entertainment out of the journey. So I would definitely say "no" to that deal.

I don't hate on Poliquin as much as some. However, I do think he is our local equivalent of Colin Cowherd.
