Media Poll: Top Remains; Penn State, Virginia Rise (IL)

Inside Lacrosse has released the first in-season Media Poll of the 2016 season.

The poll – which comes after a majority of teams have started their season, but not all – sees the nation’s top three teams in No. 1 Maryland, No. 2 North Carolina and No. 3 Syracuse remain, while No. 4 Penn State makes the jump from No. 6 to No. 4, and No. 5 Virginia rounds out the top five after topping No. 6 Northwestern, 10-8, on Saturday.

IWLCA Poll: No. 1 Maryland Leads, No. 4 Virginia Surges (IL)

The IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll is again topped by the University of Maryland, who earned all 20 first place votes after beating William & Mary 19-7 in the season opener. The University of Virginia jumped into the fourth slot after beating Northwestern 10-8 on February 13. The University of North Carolina (second), Syracuse (third), and Duke (fifth) round out the top five.
