For the second-straight week, Loyola is the big winner in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.

The Hounds (2-0) have wins over in-state rivals Maryland and Johns Hopkins and are up to No. 6 in the poll from 11 last week.

Virginia is still the clear favorite. The Top 5 rejiggered slightly with Notre Dame’s early show of force; the Irish rose to No. 2, followed by Princeton, Cornell and Yale. All of the Top 10-ranked Ivy League teams won in their debuts.

Delaware shifted into the Top 10 as teams like Rutgers and Johns Hopkins fell in weekend action. Georgetown (0-2) is down to No. 17.

Two new teams make their Top 20 debut in UMass (18) and Army (20). The Minutemen are 2-0 with wins against the Black Knights and UMass Lowell; Army knocked off Rutgers this weekend.

17) Syracuse
Head, heart and hustle lost at Maryland on Saturday in a game that was streamed on BTN Plus. The camera angle at Maryland’s football stadium makes these shows hard to watch. When faceoff wins are in short supply, you foul seven times, and don’t handle the ball cleanly in the middle of the field, it’s an uphill battle beating a quality opponent. Otto played too much defense. The inexperience was palpable. Goalie Will Mark made 18 saves and was once again spectacular, keeping this game within shouting range. Freshman midfielder Michael Leo showcased legit speed and canned two goals. North Carolina is next for the Orange in an important ACC opener.

North Carolina at 12?!?!
I find that odd.. but hey, it’ll look better on our record when we need them next week..lol

us mag really not liking cuse still doesn’t have them rank but has harvard who really got blown out n came back only cause bench players in.

This is why I don’t get polls!! Lmao
We are unranked and giving a rank team points .. Lmao
polls are a subset of jabronis (also coaches) writing down a list as a hobby.

books and casinos are in the business of making money, and don't try to fine tune the exact strengths and weaknesses of teams and predict a score outcome... but rather set a line that'll put ~relatively equal money on both sides and scrape the vig. past practice on how much $$ comes in on each team and at what relative strength value informs them more than anything.

Man talk about a must win for Gtown, an 0-3 start would be a disaster for them. Dordevic has to be thinking he made a mistake.

I thought with Tucker moving on to a team with more offensive weapons around him would change his game. It doesn't look like that has been the case. I defended him last year since he didn't have much help surrounding him. I haven't watched any Georgetown games this year, but he's accounting for 29% of the Hoya's shots this year. Last year at SU he accounted for 25%, and he was known as a high volume shooter, to put it mildly.

SU was a very top heavy team last year, Dordevic, Curry and Seebold accounted for 59% of their shots last year. This year Dordevic, Bundy and Minicus account for 63% of the Georgetown shots. I don't think any team wants to follow in the footsteps of last year's SU team. For another comp, Virginia's top three shooters account for just 37% of their shots. Given their the number one team in the country and just scored 20 goals in a half against Harvard, I'd say that's the balance you are looking for. Maryland's top three shooters last year? 38%.

Lot's could change for the Hoya's, and even if they struggle in non-conference play, they could still very easily get in via Big East tournmaent. It's only been two games but they are putting some very strange offensive numbers. Starting attackman TJ Haley, who is very good, has no shots or assists through two games. I don't think I've ever seen something like that from a top player. Kelly and Solomon have combined for just four points. Declan McDermott has zero points in two games.

No idea if Dordevic regrets if he stayed or maybe just regrets where he transferred to. He's a very skilled player but it is strange see the same issues that marred SU's season last year translate to his new team.

Gotta think this is not looking good for Georgetown. ND has a great defense, good goalie and the Kavanagh brothers. Of course, when have I ever been wrong

Ya think maybe Dordevic was part of the problem at Cuse? Like the kid but he was very inconsistent and erratic IMO during his time at Cuse. Talented but undisciplined is probably a fair description.

love tucker think he is very skilled player but truely think he is a middie not attackman. I know he put more point up for us his last year playing attack but if look they were all same shots he took as middie. He wasn’t much of a feeder which think have to be part of ur game as attack specially someone with his skill shooting that will easily draw slides. He also mostly dodges himself meaning no two man games or pics he just goes one on one then defense knows exactly where to slide n pick up to recover. As someone said he’s a volume shooter very good but when misses which does can lose ball not backing it up or other reasons. Think they need to pump him back to midfield think that’s where he belongs. He’s fast n strong enough can get back on d also and play well enough on d to not hurt. Just when was here he just waited on wing for ball then went never really going inside setting pics or behind often looking to draw and dump. Very talent player will make great pro middie i believe just don’t think he’s an attackman unless he starts looking to dish rock more but he mostly shooting any chance he gets.

Think tho him and curry were our best players last year think they not only relied to much on them but also didn’t use them to open up for other players. Meaning dodging to draw slide toward well known player like curry n tuck only to pass to unknown player like berkman who bet defenses would not hesitate to slide off of. Thought berkman had nice quick stick shot when got it. Not using tuck curry as decoys but using them to draw defense so the other players are open. Curry fed ball well at times n had more assists then tuck did don’t recall tuck ever having 10 or more assist in season. Think if ur gonna be elite attackman n dodging threat that he is only will help if he dishes ball at times then opens him up even more cause then they know he will pass as of now they know he is shooting everytime. I also wonder if he left cause he would of been bumped back up to middie if stayed here and he wanted to stay at attack. Honestly wish him best would of love to still have him but think he needs to drastically be able to feed ball consistently or least threat of it.

Haley not having an assist this year is a problem. He is an assist first player.
