Georgetown, Army and Rutgers were the big risers in the Inside Lacrosse Men’s DI Media Poll for Week 2.

The Hoyas, dominant in a 16-1 win against Villanova, moved into the Top 5 and up four spots. Ohio State went up two spots to No. 6, and Army went up six spots to No. 7. Rutgers, which downed Penn State in Big Ten action Saturday, entered the Top 10 up seven spots from No. 17.

There are still a clear top four teams — but what combination you make of them is your choosing. Duke is No. 1, but Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland are not far behind — with the Cavs and Heels essentially in a three-way tie with the Devils.

As ugly as our game was, polls are almost always an overreaction to each week's games. Moving up Rutgers, Army and Georgetown by large numbers is laughable. But, good wake-up call for Cuse.

Penn State seems to drop fairly far, for losing to a decent team (Rutgers) on the road 11-9.
