Syracuse is No. 1 in the Maverik Media Poll. The uncertainty of the voters is clear, as five different teams earned No. 1 votes, and Penn State has the most No. 1 votes of all. It is the first time Syracuse is No. 1 since Week 11 of the 2017 season. The Orange are one of six undefeated teams through February and has had the best first midfield in the country. Their biggest test was Army, and the Orange handled an explosive Hobart team on Friday. Johns Hopkins is up next. The Nittany Lions are next, followed by Princeton, North Carolina and a tie for fifth between Yale and Cornell.

Team is an unanimous #1 and crickets.

Par for the course around here.

Just haven't actually had a chance to prove ourselves yet this year. Rankings this time of the year ultimately mean almost nothing. Our preseason rank is a big part of why we are #1 and not just somewhere in the top 10. There will be plenty more bragging and boasting when we actually beat one of these other teams in the top 10, who all look just as good as us in these early games. We have been number 1 or close to it plenty of times, even recently, only to be heartbroken way too early in May. Besides these early wins haven't exactly been total domination. I imagine those are the main reasons for the subdued reaction.

The number one ranking is a great statement to recruits and the fan base after recent tourney disappointments and recruit de-commits that led to a worry SU was headed to becoming a bit irrelevant as a national contender

4 weeks into season, number of very good teams one through twenty .See three tiers amongst with slim margins between. Rankings will fluctuate for field over the course of season as no team is going undefeated. My view is Cuse is in top tier as are some other ACC teams. Enjoy the prestige of being #1 ranked however long it lasts but remain focused on the larger mission of getting back to FF
