The top three are secure, Maryland is up to No. 4, Stanford is into the Top 5, and Johns Hopkins had a huge week.
It was an eventful weekend —Saturday more in the ACC, Sunday more in the Big Ten— that did a lot to clarify the Top 25 in the KANE Women’s DI Media Poll.
North Carolina handled Clemson, convincing at least one voter that they are on par with No. 1 Boston College. Northwestern opened Big Ten play with a decisive win against Northwestern.
Most eyes were on Maryland-Michigan on Sunday, and the Terps handled that to move to 6-1. Michigan stayed at No. 12. Also Sunday, Stanford beat Yale to move back into the Top 5, but the one-goal result kept the Bulldogs within the Top 10.
Johns Hopkins had a big week: It started Monday with an epic, comeback OT win against Syracuse and continued with a Big Ten win on the West Coast at USC. They are up to No. 7.
