We're all annoyed and posting lots of complaints. Let's focus on some positives only for a change...

Few thoughts:

1) Antoine did a pretty good at MLB. Was talking with a former player after the game who thought he did really well for it being his first collegiate game. Really liked how he attacked the running game. Thinks he's going to be a special player.

2) We have talent at WR. Russell even did a nice job filling in for Cook.

3) Cook. Enough said. He's going to drive ACC defenses crazy.

4) Nixon is healthy and did a nice job out of the backfield.

5) Willis can be a beast.

6) It was nice to see a lot of recent players at the game. Helped it being an off week for the NFL but saw Bergeron, Zaire, Lequint, and Bullock, plus a bunch of players from the 90s and early 2000s, too. Lot of support for what Fran is doing. They all noticed the size difference and the talent influx.

1) The oline was Ok. Not great. But really two key sack plays were on the QB. They struggled with some exotic blitzes. That can get cleaned up over time

2) Agree WR did pretty well. Whether they can be press coverage we will need to hang with the better teams we will find out.

3) Lots of good play calls. A couple big plays were left on the table.

4) Dline wasnt gashed, they were mauled. Not every team will do that so lets hope thats a positive.

5) We will see how many mistakes were mistakes vs talent.

I remain very impressed with Nixon. There were some really smart plays called. I think the OL was able to get good push on short yardage plays, better than we have in the past against big DL.

The big reception for Cook he got off press release so cleanly and smoothly I shouted out into the universe in a bnoro direction, "See? See? A five second clip on Twitter doesn't tell the whole story!!!"

Offense has a LOT of weapons.

Important to also keep in mind that while McCord came in last year with a full season of high-profile starts under his belt, Angeli was relatively inexperienced [1 start, a few years ago, mop up duty otherwise]. Some of the issues getting plays in, etc. will get ironed out. And if he looked pretty good against a Tennessee defense that could pin their ears back and come after him every play, he's going to look better with teams that aren't chock full of NFL prospects.

Willis is the real deal.

Nixon is recovered.

Villari might not be OG, but he is going to be a huge weapon at TE.

Once we iron out some kinks on the OL, this offense is going to pop.

On the other side of the ball... I think we're limited by our scheme, but we have a lot of the right pieces of the puzzle.

After watching some games after our 4 hour festival. I feel much better.

This Tennessee team looks like the 3rd/4th best SEC team after Georgia/LSU/Texas. I think we held our own vs them after things settled down. Point for point in last 3Qs has to say something.

Tackling should improve, less mistakes on some assignments/routes, and they got a taste on what to expect vs Clemson/SMU/Miami/ND going forward. Good lesson this week.

Run games looks awesome. Pound the rock. Angeli can manage for sure. Defense needs a leader.

Still like a 7-5/8-4 finish.

Anyways the schedule is absolutely murderers row. Going to be hard to win more than six games. Need to win every single game at home and maybe can pull one win off on the road.

Villari also messed up twice with illegal shifts or illegal man down the field or whatever he was doing when he was releasing as tight end and being covered. He needs to clean that up

You missed the title of the thread!! Lol

Downvote me if you want, but man. If this is how the offensive line looked against an elite SEC defense then I’m okay with it, especially considering the entire offensive line is brand new aside from Cruz & Weatherspoon.

Positives:
— Good run blocking against an elite SEC defense with multiple blue chip run stuffing freak athletes.

— Trevion Mack looked the part and Joe Cruz I thought was solid again.

— While pass blocking was below average, 4 out of the 5 sacks came on blitzing LB’s. It was encouraging to see our tackles not get burned by their DE’s besides one play on Weatherspoon.

Someone at my ATL gate turned their poodle into a giraffe. Not sure if that’s a positive or negative. But it captured the attention of everyone within 50 feet.

Positives (without reading the thread)
* Frans main recruits are, athletically, a step in the right direction
* A few different bounces & basic execution its a 1 score game
* some moments where Angeli looked good. Same for Samuels.
* impressed w Yaz & Nixon, but not surprised
