Before there is a complete meltdown let's look at this. Did Syracuse deserve to lose? Yes, but Syracuse was the better team. If you take away dumb mistakes that are easily correctable, such as the blocked punt and returned int(miscommunication) and the missed field goal, we win this game. We aren't as bad as people are making us out to be, in fact I think we are a pretty good team with some really good talent. We just need to fix the mistakes so we can reach our full potential, which I fully believe we can. I think this team comes out hungry against Notre Dame and is a lot closer then people expect. GO ORANGE!!!

One positive: defense kept it from getting ugly in the second half. Answered on each of those demoralizing punts.

The thing that is most discouraging is that we're saying this after almost every game. Recurring stupid penalties, mistakes, bone head play calls. I am now convinced that the problem is the O. We were tearing them a new one on the ground yet continually went away from the running game to have a QB with questionable accuracy throwing into repeated double coverage, throwing ed bubble screens or throwing a 95 mph fastball on a simple 4 yd. out and turn. McDonald might be a hell of a recruiter but he is no OC. If someone asked me what our offensive identity is I would say inept.

Very impressed with the RBs today (PTG and AAM), they ran hard. As did Hunt.

West did a good job considering how terrible he is.

Estime looked good at WR, too many thrown behind him.

Wish we had more like Lynch on D. He's awesome. Thompson is playing well also.

I forgot about the kickoff guy making that 49 yard FG. In a game where we failed to score so often, that was probably the most surprising 3 points of the season. Pre-snap, I would have literally bet my house on a pooch punt.
