I think Doug has checked out mentally

fatigued and overwhelmed

But after the Scarlet Knights’ Jamal Merrell blocked Ross Krautman’s kick and Duron Harmon picked up the ball and took it 75 yards the other way for a Rutgers TD, Marrone had been enraged. First, he slammed his playlist to his feet. Then, while loudly addressing his offensive line on the bench, he removed his headset and fired it to the ground. Then, in mid-eye-bulging speech, he grabbed his visor and tried, apparently, to discover oil with it. For those who’ve wait for Doug, generally a sideline stoic, to effect the football version of a chair-toss across a basketball court, well, your pining is now over. Mt. Marrone blew on Saturday, publicly, and it was a sight to see.

This doesn't sound like someone who doesn't care anymore.

That's not the only time he lit into the OL.

Poliquin once again proves he's wrong with his "stats don't win games" headline. Yes, if you pick and choose the only stats that you had the advantage in it will look like SU should have won the game. However, he failed to mention the most important stat of the game, turnovers. SU was -4 in turnovers. That stat certainly won the game for RU.

exactly

rutgers didn't win that game on intangibles. blocked kicks fumbles and interceptions make it in the box score too

HEY... i'm no lip reader but he indeed seemed to drop an awful lot of sideline #@$#BOMBs today .

He said about the first and goal from the two he didn't go Tank because he was trying to score quickly. You got to be kidding me. The most important thing to do there is to score. Also there was 8 mins left. Plenty of time to run it 4 times and even if you are stopped to still score 16 points. Especially with 3 TOs.

Couldn't agree more. He spent the first 4 games watching as the team haplessly try the spread and couldn't score against the likes of Stony Brook and Minnesota.
He finally goes Tank and scores EVERY time they are in that situation last week and today, yet goes back to the spread. Makes no sense and that's why you have to question his coaching acumen.
It took him all of spring practice, fall practice, and 4 games to finally realize that the Tank works better than the spread yet he goes back to the spread at the most critical juncture of the game. So incredibly frustrating.

He said it was a terrible call. He forgot his QB and WR's can't execute a simple slant pass.

"EVERY time" = A whopping 2 times

They tried the Tank on 3rd down and it was stuffed.

Did they not score today in the Tank? Did they not score last week in the Tank?
I think the percentage of 100 with the Tank is better than the percentage of 0 with the spread.
Also, did it not work to get the key 1st down to ice the game last week?
Also, it got stuffed today the first time they tried it before AAM walked into the End Zone the second time they tried it.
Watch the games it might help.

This may be the best presser of Marrone's career especially the first 5 minutes or so. He looks locked in and ready to fight through this.

Who will be the first to put "I'm a sh#tty coach" in their sig?
