  • Feels good to start the season off win a win. Great for the confidence and morale of the team
  • Best I've seen the OL in a long time, particularly this early in the season. I've found most of the times we've run the ball fairly well has been later in the season, as we seem to always start slow running the ball since Dino has been here. Also, I don't recall them getting any penalties-Kudos to Schmidt and the players for both the run and pass blocking.
  • Disappointed that we're still getting these 15-yard penalties-We need to be more disciplined with this, particularly on Defense
  • Major improvement in 3rd and short from last lear. It's nice being able to run the ball when we need to. 3rd and long TBD
  • I'm neither in or out on Devito after that game. Thought he showed a little better pocket presence and missed a few throws, though Taj had a real shot at the long pass if he dives. Ironically, TD ran better than he passed. He's a fairly good North-South runner, not really an East-West runner. Would have liked to see more Schrader to see what he had.
  • Dino did not look happy with Schrader's lateral on the last play of the game and let him know it. I also wonder what Dino thinks of Schrader previously voicing publicly that he disagreed with a 2-QB system, probably not a big deal
  • Obviously Tucker looked really good. Agreed with those who thought Adams also looked particularly good. We have 4 good RB's so Dino can really keep the expectations high there, particularly with their blocking, which brings me to:
  • We had at least 2 plays (1 from Sharod and 1 from Queeley), where a good WR block leads to a TD. Really hope the staff can hold the receivers accountable for their blocking, as we have a lot of talent there. Would like to see what Alford can do on 50-50 balls.
  • No passes to the TE. Dino mentioned on his coaches show that he planned to throw to them more this year-Time will tell
  • Offense looked very vanilla. I hope they have more lined up for this weekend.
  • After that first drive, was very happy with our run defense. Our tackling was excellent
  • Red Zone Defense was excellent-Keeping them out of the end zone is a very good accomplishment
  • This was particularly true of our least experienced player, Duce Chestnut, who played like a Senior. Very excited to have him here for as long as we can. He and Garrett are excellent bookends
  • Was disappointed in our lack of pass rush. Will need to do better to beat better teams. Hope getting Jonathan and Mckinley back help here
  • Love Mikel Jones. It looked like Tuggle might escape from Okechukwu's grasp for the safety, but Jones and Wax were having none of it
  • Like having this problem, but would have liked to take out our most valuable players, particularly on Defense. Looks like Wax will be okay, but no need to take a chance there and the underbelly could use the reps.
  • Was wary of the ST without Lustig, but they looked great yesterday in every phase. Need to them to be solid next week and not let Rutgers block any kicks. I'm happy Williams got his 1st game under him and looked very comfortable. Szmyt and Pena looked very good, as well
  • We are still in the race for the playoffs-Great to start off the season right-Go Orange!
