Okay WVU has bolted (good luck and safe travels WVU). Hopefully we can play a 2 game series 5-10 years in the future. We still have two holes to fill for the Fall. I figure if Boise or Memphis can't move we will know within a week. The schedules are overdue and time marches on.

As Cuseguy posted a 2 game Ruttie series isn't going to happen.

I predict Cuse to go hard after another low 1A "Baby Seal to Club" at home. Think Sunbelt, MAC, WAC or low end CUSA. I also expect we get an unfavorable 1 for 1 series. HCDM realizes this season must end in a bowl game. We can't afford to play at FSU, ARK, etc... this year. Hopefully our second game will be against a decent lower middle team from a mid major or BCS conference...we'll see. This game could be played away.

The good news is the days of low 1A's and 1AA's holding us hostage is coming to an end. The Patriot League upgrading (phase in 60 scholie rosters) will add 7 nearby 1AA schools that will be counters in a few years. I much rather play a Colgate annually and get a nice bump of 4-5000 visiting fans (about 5 times more fans than Rutgers and UConn) than play some skank Sunbelt, MAC, etc... The bad news is our walk-ons will be lower quality/quanity in the future (with the Patriot offering scholies now). I predict an annual Patriot or CAA team on our home schedule starting now.

Basketball is interesting: 15 teams next season.

I bet we still play 18 games and the good news is we'll get the Hoyas, UConn, Rutgers/SJU/Ville Twice for TV...and add an extra lower team like SHU or DePaul twice also. 10 Single Game Series and 4 Home and Home series. We should go out in a bang next season with lots of great matchups.

I agree with your assessment. We need to schedule OOC light because the Big East will rig its schedule against us.

For hoops, we will finish the Big East season playing @UConn on a Saturday night, @ Nova on Big Monday, home against St John's (no MSG game), @Louisville, and @ Marquette. Our home/home games will be Seton Hall, Villanova, Louisville, and Marquette.

You're on the football board. And what we are saying here should be opposite for basketball.
