Postgame Thoughts… BC

I think the fact that he would keep someone in simply for making a shot is really exposing his current thought process. He's so focused on our not wanting to miss a shooters hot streak that he's missing every other part of the game.
Or, he thinks he knows Joe's psychology, and seeing the confident way Girard squared up and made that first "3" made him (JB) feel that Joe would be an asset the rest of the game.

So if he misses the 3 then he wouldn't be an asset?
What if it rimmed in and out?

Not suggesting you are wrong, btw. Just seems like if Joe's overall game play is related to making 3s...then he should probably get pulled quicker in games he's missing shots, no?

If there were a better option on the bench. . .

Who are these fans your projecting your opinion on? I know 100’s of fans. Not one is okay with being a mediocre team.

No one. You apparently missed the "if" part in the beginning of that paragraph. And, 'if' that was to truly be the case, then so be it. And, rather than live in the past, live in the present and stop pretending, talking, walking and strutting around, etc. as if we were still a top dog type.

Perhaps, more crucial than the fans, is the message/signal that the leadership sends? When we have been nothing more than mediocre in our own conference now for 8 seasons, never winning more than one consecutive game in our conference tournament, therefore, never reaching a semi-final, let alone a final, and the only word from leadership to date is that JB has a lot of built up "equity," that, IMO, sends the loudest message of acceptance relative to the current state of program. And, that the status quo is sufficient.

Sure

Not at all.

I also don’t golf analogy

I don't see the point where guys get a half a day away from the family to get drunk outdoors, and then arrive home in time for dinner, or grilling in the backyard.

I don't have that much free time. I have way too much stuff to do, and I have a limit on how many things that I am still willing to get my drink on for.

Just like in baseball you pull the guy who is 0 for 3. There seems to be a perception that at some bright line where one can determine that a player is “having a bad game” and should obvious be pulled. So Joe scored 2 in the first half. He should never have had the opportunity to play in the second.

I think the dilemma that JB has is that Symir gives them nothing as far as scoring vs. Joe who is a just OK as a play maker and defender but is a major contributor on the the offensive side. It's obvious that after nearly 3 years in the system JB has a lot more confidence in what Joe can provide. When the coach has that confidence his leash is much longer. Symir has had some nice contributions this season in spurts but when he is not on and makes a couple turn overs, he'll get pulled. That is not a knock on JB, but just the reality of the situation.
