Postgame thoughts... WVU (NCAAT)

that string where Kadary whipped that ball to Bras who drills the 3 like a stone cold assassin after missing all game, followed by Marek dropping a dime to Q who friggin jams it home was maybe the best string of offense since 2003. Seriously, I couldn’t believe it
Yeah I need to see those highlights a few more times or 30

What a win! Foul - prone Marek picked a bad time to show up, but he did an exceptional job avoiding the 5th. West Virginia did a poor job of taking advantage.
Love these players. Survive and advance.

Joe played well the first half, but we’re just a different and better team with Kadary playing extended minutes.
Yeah, and this is precisly the type of team (not very big, tons of ball pressure) where buddy at the 3 and Joe/Kadary playing guard minutes actually makes sense. Neither Griff nor Bobby were particularly breathtaking today so you roll with K, JG, BB, Q, Dole.

We got out rebounded by million anyways...

100% agree.

They were never in that game. That was a defensive masterpiece by 'Cuse. They peaked at the right time. Just like this team is doing.
Ya I just re looked it up. Lost 74-71 at Marquette. Won 55-39 in elite eight. 39 POINTS!!!! They had 77th offensive efficiency in the country, out of 347 teams.

Seriously though that last minute... why was kadary not in and why were we inbounding to the corner repeatedly?
KaDary isn’t really very quick. The only quick option—toward getting open in those situations—is Griffin, but then he’s just as likely to get tied up or turn it over after he catches it. Joe is prolly the next quickest. Which is pretty sad.

Maybe we need to work on KaDary inbounding, and have Marek available for the catch.

Kadary came in and broke the press immediately, so I don’t care if he’s quick or not, but seems like he was our only option to break it

Great win, but was very nerve-wracking seeing us keep passing it to the corner on those inbounds plays and having Braswell in instead of Kadary on those plays until the end. How do you not have your best ball handler on the court in that situation? Like Braswell, but ballhandling is not his strength. With the way Q has been at the FT line recently, can argue he could have been taken out there, too.
The one handed catch by braswell on one of those inbound passes was huge and superhuman

I don’t disagree—if you can get it to him. But he isn’t actually ‘flashing and slashing‘ with any kind of burst to get open.

Underrated play that I haven’t seen get any mention yet... when Braswell got trapped in the corner with 28 seconds to play and no timeouts remaining, he basically allowed WVa to tie him up for a held ball - because he knew we had the possession arrow!

In the moment that it happened, I started screaming, because I thought he had called a timeout that we didn’t have... I saw him pointing towards our bench, and I was convinced that he had just saddled us with a technical foul. But, no - super smart play by Bras that allowed us to retain possession (and finally get Kadary in the game... don’t even get me started on what was going on there...)

Orange, baby!!!
