Not a lot of seniors on that team.

I was told we will lose a top SSDM. Unfortunately.

Missing a Spallina.

Don't think Harrison Thompson is back.

I was told we will lose a top SSDM. Unfortunately.

Hmmm. Guessing Rice or Aviles? That’s too bad but honestly a total retool of that unit might be for the best.

Is one of the Spallina’s not making it to campus?

Looks like a very full goalie room. McCool and Ipolalti are highly regarded. Wondering if some of the others move on (and fingers crossed that McCool stays patient if indeed Mark stays).

Same for FOGOs especially if they bring in a transfer.

Lots of players left that weren’t seeing time last year, especially older players who I think still had eligibility. With such a young roster I expect we’ll see a similar slimming down of the roster.

Bucktooth Jr’s IG says he’s taking a post grad year so he’s a year away.

with how much talent we have and clearly should be good why bail on it now after going thru bad part to leave before good part. I guess don’t understand guys who get playing time leaving for other schools.

Is he just graduating n maby pll or another school? what is rumor?

Guessing we’ll find out soon enough. If poster felt comfortable sharing names they would have.

Aviles walked at senior day, he might just have decided he’s done with college lax.

Guys leave for different teams all the time for different reasons. We’ve been on the good side of these transactions plenty of times in the past.

Academics? Financial circumstance? Family? Don't mean to sound preachy but lax isn't everything...

I mean Aviles is graduating I think? Believe he walked on Senior day so if it's him yeah maybe he's just ready to move on in life.

Yea. I’ll let him put it out there.

Wouldn't be suprised if Aviles uses his 5th yr close to home at Stonybrook. He could be a two way there which I'm sure he wants. Could take a few grad classes there. Who knows

Need to find a way to improve ground ball play. It's probably a combination of more production at FO, much better wing play, and gaining athleticism across the defense wherever.

I heard some coach on a podcast say that each ground ball won is worth roughly .333 goals. For sake of comparison, SU was 60th with 28.08 gbs per game. The teams we lost against averaged:

UVA = 40.92
MD = 36
Duke = 35.85
UNC = 35.15
ND = 33.60
JHU = 30.07

It's very much like hockey that way. Winning loose pucks in the corners is a strong indicator of who wins.
I'm sure our youth is a big factor here. Coaching??

Really think we not only need to add a FOGO in the portal, but also a close defender.

Total speculation but Jake Piseno coming here would be really intriguing if he could take a grad transfer year. He would instantly add athleticism to the middle of the field and could keep Olexo at close, where he is most valuable against top end opponents

The incoming freshman fogo Johnny Mullen has had some good press over the last couple of years so you never know. We could sure use a pleasant surprise given recent history. I'm sure he will get a good hard look next year but let's hope for success in the portal.

Shellenberger has an extra year and walked on senior day…
