Potential 2025-26 Roster

FWIW: Was with some folks with some inside NIL at SU. They are very positive about their NIL position and he said to expect an unanticipated roster retention.
How are they going to keep Lampkin? He is out of eligibility.

In 3 years of college basketball, neither Chris Bell or JJ Starling (1 year at ND) has ended the year with a positive DBPM. I can't find anyone on any Syracuse team that has previously pulled that off.

Any idea they would be welcomed back as starters in Season 4 is insane.

Disagree on Petar. He played hard every minute he was on the court. Unlike Jimmy he didn't force bad shots nor was he a traffic cone on defense. There is a real value to having a program guy on the roster like Petar who the coach can always count on for instant energy. Plus he quietly has become a better shooter and I can see him improving from the outside and becoming a more valuable offensive player. When he committed he and the staff agreed that he would be patient and be worked into the rotation. Frankly I think he got more time than he and the staff anticipated. I'd happily welcome him back.
Remember, he was a late addition last summer. I hope that a year with D-I nutrition and S&C will yield a stronger, more productive player.

Would love to keep Donnie, Choppa, Cuffe, and Petar.

Certainly understand Choppa if he leaves but would love to see him stay and fight and develop.

It's hard to do any S&C when all the equipment is broken lol and the Melo center is a closet compared to our peers ;)

Getting a little spicy in here with News. I think a Bell return would be unexpected.
Sure, but at a huge discounted price I would think. Choppa has “flashed” enough to attract offers, and freshman often struggle shooting the ball. He will get offers (and allegedly wants out). I penciled him in as “gone”.

I think Bell’s body of work makes him less desirable, unless a team is just lacking a spot shooter and is looking for a final piece.

To be fair, I imagine a lot of schools could convince themselves they're in this situation, and while he struggled for stretches this season, he has at least been a very good spot up shooter in the past.

I don't know how I feel about him at this stage personally. I absolutely despised the fact that we played him major minutes earlier in his career. He's always been meant for a role where he's just a guy that comes off the bench and gets some shots up, so I think I'd be relatively happy if we brought him back to do that.

Part of me worries there's just such a stink on some of these guys that we need to just be rid of them all and start over though lol.

He and Moore are the two I was thinking. Possible Tuttle's friend thinks Donnie would be unexpected too; seems like a lot of people on Twitter think he's gone.

The only reason I would say Donnie would fall into more of the expected column is because we have been told for months from people with sources that if he wasn't going pro then everyone at Syracuse expects him to be back. So I wouldn't put him in the "unexpected" column.

Now fans may think it would be crazy for him to come back but that isn't what others are saying.

He could be the featured offensive player depending on who portals in and out

In your esteemed opinion , what would you feel are the current positional target in the portal for the program

That's what makes sense to me, too. Donnie would be unexpected but very welcome.

I hope not. He's not good enough inside or from 3 to be the high usage guy on offense.
