Women's Lacrosse Potential 2025 Roster

Watching BC and Northwestern - SU is slow at midfield - that's why we don't get ground balls. SU is slow at attack - no dodgers. Are any of the incoming players are faster? Possible portals?

Horvit and Basciano are defenders, they both played down low when they subbed in this year. I believe Claire Jeshke would be eligible for med redshirt but I’m not sure if she would use it after four years at brown and another at SU.

As for the portal, I was speaking with my daughters club director and he was told it’s is light this year other than Ivy grad transfers and the Virginia Tech girls (7-10 of them in portal). I wouldn’t expect a huge portal haul but they definitely could use a few added pieces on both sides of the ball.

When it comes to the portal I definitely think our first priorities needs to be at goalie and draw specialist before anything. The two most important positions. I will say Guyette did look pretty good in the few times she came in during mop up duty, but I am not hinging an entire season based on that. I think the smarter option is to find a proven goalie in the portal. If the rumor has it that the VT goalie is in, that is where I would start. I don't know why a list of names haven't been leaked on the women's side, would be nice to know who's in there!

Goalie's are always a toss up in D1. I think she will be a stud in future years, but to grab the starting spot right out the gates? Idk, it's a possibility! If I'm Kayla I'm grabbing someone whose proven themselves from the portal though. Let them all battle it out during fall ball. May the best women win

The portal is not going to be what it has been the only left over players from Covid are all from the IVY someone mentioned SU has a defender coming from Princeton. I would seriously temper expectations with the portal things should be shifting back to a more traditional recruiting mindset. With that said their will always be the occasional big name transfer so you never know

Yeah I might be crazy but, I want us to stick with what we have coming in and with the ladies that are already here. Sure 1-3 transfers in would be nice... I just think throwing the young guns into the fire will be our best bet.

Eligibility: 4 Years
The No. 10 recruit in the class of 2023 won an NCAA Championship in her first year with the Eagles. The 5-star West Babylon (N.Y.) product finished her high school career with 244 goals and 198 assists.

Eligibility: 2 Years
The second-team All-American finished 2024 with 229 saves in 19 games for a .569 save percentage. Cuocco totals 409 saves during her career as a Dragon and help her team to two NCAA Tournament appearances.

That really sucks about Markey. It was so fun watching her in transition. She could have led a young midfield group. I had a feeling she’d be gone. And I understand why she might want to go. Her whole class besides possibly Ward are gone. And who knows if Emma will be back.

Just a wild ass guess but for some reason I could see her ending up at Clemson. Or maybe she wants to go back home and play for Stony Brook. Just some random thoughts that entered my mind. Oh well. It really sucks that her career here ended with her playing only 2 1/2 seasons out 4.
