Think coaches need to do a strong evaulation of the roster and have some hard conversations.

Should we talk portal? We've have luck under Coach Jack with players from portal, including 2 starters this year.

I was thinking the same but I guess it depends on what's available in the portal and who we would be able to land

My thoughts from the current roster is do we have the right pieces in place. From a leadership perspective if we have Dom/Sophia were good. If Uche stays we have a strong defender in the paint. With those 3, we also have 3 dbl digit scorers but who are the other 2. Shy started several games and could be a 4th, her play got a little flat towards end of season and had a few defensive lapse. With strong summer program she could fix those issues.
Who is 5? Do we find a portal player to replace Laila or look for a player to fill role like Journey. Almon/Schmitt are positional substitutes for center/pg.
Would like to see 6th player as a bench impact player, someone like Alaina Rice who comes in and gives a spark. players. players 8-12 ones that you hope you can build on. 13-15 solid practicerole players.

I think we need 1 maybe 2 starters, a solid 3pt shooter would be nice. Someone on current team could step up and be the 6th player (Hawkins if not a starter, Schmitt, Potts,Cooper)

We only have 2 scholarships left, we would need to hit with both, do we go for 1 shooter/1 Front court/wing? Would like it if we had 1 more scholarship to offer.

I think Velez transfers, Schmitt might... just to be closer to Petar. Kiera Scott maybe? She's a liability on defense but a good O player. Shy Hawkins, I think stays, shes a pretty good defender and a solid O player.

Why would Schmitt transfer to be closer to Petar? This is 2026 not 1956, why shouldn't he transfer closer to her? Better yet, they both transfer to the same school!

Think the portal will be big and rumors of some teams losing 5-6 players can also open up incoming freshman.
Here's my bold prediction and one that would create a bidding war, Hildago leaving Notre Dame. ND does have 5 Freshmen coming but they lose most of their starting 5. Does she go for a championship, if so it would not be in the ACC.

Burrows was definite bothered by thumb wrap even though it was non-shooting hand the last 6 games or so. Hopefully returns healthy.
