Certainly seems like there is. Maybe it’s as simple as agents sniffing around and then a domino effect after Burrows and Potts entered? Hope Coach Jack saw this coming, but I’m guessing not.

Burrows leaving was not expected, maybe the other players saw their playing time diminished by newcomers? Just guessing here but yeah, it certainly is odd.

Being close, perhaps losing a leader or two made the other players realize that things were going to change especially if they started worrying about how playing time could be effected, causing them to decide to test the market and enter the transfer portal too. Hope Coach was aware otherwise plans for next year could be upended and need to be reassessed. Difficult times for staff or fans to depend on anything regarding college teams.

I wonder after reading about a number of shocking entries to the transfer portal, how many are being done to pressure their current teams to increase their NIL? Is it now becoming a normal negotiating ploy for players who would prefer to stay to threaten to leave to maximize their NIL from their current teams? Could end up being a risky move and hurt trust between players and their program.

Seems like a lot of mass exoduses going on in WBB.

I wonder if some kids are afraid that with the Executive Order only allowing 1 transfer a lot of kids are jumping in the portal sooner than later.

I think it’s agents and family convincing them of a big payday that won’t materialize for a lot of these players. You think they would have heard from Dom and Layla (sp) that played on higher rated teams of the benefits of playing for Coach Jack. Sometimes young people have to learn hard lessons. I just don’t want people making them out to be some victim when it doesn’t work out. Choices are made and you live with them.

Amen. I think there will be disappointment for some of these young ladies in a few months. Coach Jack is one of a kind. If they hit a payday (doubtful) then great. All the best to them. But if they get somewhere and are recruited over, it’s really going to suck for them.

Hope FLJ can find a few more gems like Uche on the international scene.

maybe its just me but what have we really lost? Burrows? Who had a meh year anyways. Most of the players we lost were just ok. This isnt losing like Kardoso or Engstler or the one year we had a mass exodous. These players are certainly replaceable. And news flash...this is going to happen EVERY SINGLE SEASON.

I find it hard to believe we cant get just as good of talent in here through the portal.

Agree. When looking at each of the players that left individually it doesn't seem like big losses and/or they're not replaceable. I think the bigger concern is that all but 4 players have decided to leave. 3 of the remaining players didn't see consistent minutes this past season.
