Potential FCS opponent for SU

Don't we have Penn St. in 2018, or were those years voided? Probably doesn't matter much though because I expect that in 2-3 years we'll see the conference schedules go to 9 games.

Penn State is 2020 and 2021. At Maryland in 2019. Unless things change we will play Notre Dame again by 2019, since we play them in 2016 and the new arrangement has ND playing all ACC teams over a 3 year period. So, we could see Maryland and ND in 2019 like this year. You are right it could become a 9 game ACC schedule at some point.

I think colgate is a clear choice except I'm wondering if the AD wants to eliminate any potential lost fanbase IE colgate alums upset about likely annually losing to cuse... too close for fodder?

Rurgirls will just out bid us with their student activity fund to get them all the time until finally broke

agreed, but we only want to schedule 1 FCS per year since only 1 counts toward bowl eligibility. here is my perfect OOC schedule:

1 FCS team: horrible one like Colgate or Wagner
1 FBS cupcake from Florida/Georgia area: FIU, FAU etc (we play USF next year, close enough)
1 FBS cupcake from the Midwest: Mediocre or bad MAC team (like Central Mich)
1 Power Five team that we can beat: Kansas, Illinois, Purdue, Colorado etc

Our next chance to do this is 2018. We already have LSU next year, ND in 2016 and LSU in 2017. 2018 is wide open. Please, Doc Gross and Herm, do as I say!
Herm says nooooooo.

Nah, most alumni seem to like it. (I don't think Colgate's coaching staff does; at least the previous one didn't.)
