As I get ready for tomorrow morning - a couple things are on my mind tonight. While any major surgery where they are removing a tumor can be scary, I am keeping my head in a positive place.

Two things I want to say:

1. When I joined this board - I never imagined I'd be as close as I am to some of the people. Friendship is great thing - which is another reason to step out and come to tailgates, golf outings, and other meetups.

2. There's an awful lot of bickering at times on this board - but I think it's important to remember: We are all here because we love Syracuse Athletics. We all want the same things. Hopefully that helps us as we are typing when we disagree with someone on the other end of a keyboard.

Life's great. You never know what's going to happen and that can be a great thing and a bad thing about life. I've fallen into the habit of telling recruits over the past couple of months - there are things in life you can control. Your attitude, the effort you put into making yourself better, and the amount of love you show on a daily basis - to your friends, your family, your teammates, and to yourself. This is a roundabout way of telling everyone - I appreciate the friendship I've found here since stumbling upon this board back in the Scou* days.

That being said - after I get this damn tumor out of me and am told it's 100% non-cancerous, I'm looking forward to making a lot more. I'll talk to y'all when I am back around a keyboard.

Good luck man. Be positive.

Had 1/3 of my left kidney taken out seven years ago & it was cancer. Here I am in 2015 fervently praying for a successful surgery & complete recovery for a man I never met but still feel I know. Strange thing this message board, no?

It is better on the other side of the surgery. My last conscious words before they put me out? "Doc, better a little too much then not enough." Doesnt that sum up life too?

Peace.

Great post from a great man. Godspeed on your recovery and will certainly throw some prayers your way until we reconvene about you being 100% healthy and how much better you now feel. Be blessed and get yourself back here in a hurry brother!

My last conscious words to the nurse while I was in the bullpen waiting to be wheeled out for my open heart surgery ten years ago - "Any chance you could throw in a liposuction?"

Good luck! Hope everything goes well and you feel good as new with that tumor out of you.
